While I don't think this idea will get very far, it does at least have a chance of getting people thinking about the subject - something that there is far too little of.

Not so impressive

A few years ago, in a moment of boredom my sister used google earth to look at my house, then sent me the screengrab. I was quite surprised that it even showed the pathetic awning thingy over the back door - at only 950mm x 750mm. I was especially impressed considering it had been 'edited' by a winter storm a couple of years beforehand.

I like to imagine that some evil google machine is totally locked up trying to work out why a major commercial electrical contractor was investigating a domestic location over 80 miles away :)

I quite like some analog kit myself, but digital is definitely more convenient and repeatable. Having said that, repeatability is something you don't want for some playing styles, so it's all moot really.

What I found rather disappointing was that NAMM was almost entirely re-hashes (or at least that's what we're hearing about).

What to do?

I'm in my middle 60s and would be happy to manage another 20 years or so, but not so keen in the regime that (what used to be) my country is becoming. With the whole world seemingly circling the same plug-hole I'm at a loss as to what to do or where to go.

No Change

So many environments where people try to push a 'one size fits all' concept. It takes time, but eventually you get so many different 'one sizes' that you're back to square one.
