I've never been interested in iPad before because its just too BIG. If I can't jam it into my "rather large" purse, it is NOT portable. Seriously, If it needs a separate bag I'll bring my laptop.
I'm still not sure I need one, but if it can fit in the spot my Kindle rides in, it has my attention, and I'm willing it give it a second look. I had my doubts about this at first, but there is method to their madness.

There is no way around it most places in the US.
We have an incredibly high car ownership rate. and you really cannot function without one. Most cities are built around car ownership, If you don't have a car what you can do and where you can go is very limited.
Public transit is limited has short hours, is dirty, unreliable and dangerous, and generally things are wildly spread out. And the better and often more fun things often have no access at all if you don't drive there.
The only things in my city I can think of well served by public transit is the Casino, and the Mall of America. And its not as much transit as trucks to bring the sheep in for easy shearing.
All forcing this wound do is keep poor poor off the road. They can keep the automatic car. I'll keep driving my 74 Beetle.

Pretty much sum it up? Saddest pile of sour grapes I ever saw. The sheer fear and anger in these posts is hilarious. Seriously, buy what you enjoy and stop having a fit that not everyone is an Android Android. I swear you people are bigger control freaks than any Apple user I ever met. You spend more time worrying that someone may have the "wrong" phone, its lie reading baptist complaining about sex.
Ill get one. When the contract on the old one runs out. It will be mailed to me in a box by secure mail, just like the last two. And I won't have waited in a line.
This eludes me, I like my Apple kit. But why not just wait an extra week or two and simply walk in and buy one like a normal person? They won't be running out, and there is plenty of time till Xmas.
He is an idiot. He was referring to me and the fact that I have a restricted income and a Macbook Pro. How he gets "homeless poor" from this I have no idea.
A baseline Macbook Pro is about two months income for me. But somehow he implied from my statement that I bought a new one every year. Buying one every three years is privation enough thank you very much.
A LOT of us these days are on a limited income. If you know people who are spending hundreds a month on bottled water they are NOT the norm, and they certainly don't represent the great majority of buyers. It takes me a YEAR to pay off a New MBP.
I get coffee twice a week at best. and yes, $300 is actual money to me. I'm not the only one. I"m glad you can afford casual $300 purchases.
I own three Macs. My partner owns three Macs. Its very tempting to stay in the ecosystem, but I don't want a tablet that won't go in a purse. I'd like a 7 inch iPad. But if Apple can't meet my needs I have NO problem at all playing with Android.
It will probably be a Nexus 7. I don't see Apple being anywhere near them in price. The "iPad Mini" would have to be cheaper than an iPod touch to be comparatively affordable and that just seems unlikely. Then again I said the iPad would never take off.
And on the plus side, with a 7 will be the chance to play with "unapproved" software again.
Its already there, it's been there since Mountain Lion came out. It works fine. It works even better than Siri does on my phone. And you hardly need to yell. A regular speaking voice is all it takes. You Tap the function key twice, and talk.
Seriously, you guys need to get a hobby, or switch to decaff........
