How do we stop filling the oceans with Lego? By being a BaaS-tard, toy maker suggests

I have the solution.

Lincoln Logs and Tinker Toys. If the toys are thrown out, the wood returns to mother earth. Those passed down can be considered carbon storage. I should get substantial credits for the amount of Lincoln Logs I have in my basement.

penetration testing --really?

You had to go there. And, it's only Thursday.

Fun fact: early Solaris passwords were effectively truncated after eight, or so, characters. Puting all your entropy at the end of the password was a big waste.

MacOS wakes to a bright Catalina sunrise – and broken Adobe apps

What I'd give for a 64-bit UN-installer.

Adobe Illustrator CS6 is ostensibly 64-bit, but it's still bricked by Catalina. Fair enough. I hardly use it anyway. I'll just uninstall it. Whoops. The uninstaller is 32-bit.

Re: Eh?

That's bad, but many new, cloud-centric, social, collaborative, web 3.0, etc. applications are even more infantile. Slack is especially horrible. It litters it's UI with all sorts of cutsie emojis and responds with stupid interjections like, "you're all caught up, you get a pony! (with helpful pony emoji)" Imagine if that Slack channel were devoted to a serious topic like, say abused ponies.

Because Soviets valued human life less than Americans, their safety margins were much slimmer. The death toll on comsmonauts was consequently much higher, which is why the Apollo 11 crew left memorials to Vladimir Komarov and Yuri Gagarin on the moon.

I wouldn't typically respond to such a crude swipe at Americans (witty ones are encouraged), but you reminded me of this: https://youtu.be/hI-RtTrVuW8

Thanks for a good laugh.

Re: Swedish?!.... Whiskey?!....American...aftershave?

American aftershave? I can appreciate your confusion. A proper Kentucky bourbon puts hair on your chest, so perhaps the latter engenders needs of the former.

Whiskey, or Scotch whisky–by design–should be controversial (hello, Laphroaig). I think we can all agree though, "Swedish" and "whiskey" does seem an odd combination. Rather like "English" and "cuisine".
