Between you, me and that dodgy-looking USB: A little bit of paranoia never hurt anyone

I have had similar ideas forced upon me by other means than a usb card. A little paranoia can go a long way, How much is too much? We may yet find out.

I want to buy a coffee with an app – how hard can it be?

Re: only £2.90

It doesn't have to be drinkable. An IV of caffeine directly into the bloodstream would suffice.

All software sucks

There is an old saying among software engineering types. All software sucks. Some just sucks less.

Now that app making software makes it so simple to make a cross platform app that anybody can do it, guess what? Anybody and his slacker brother in law does. And it shows. By sucking a whole lot.

Put your tin-foil hats on! Wi-Fi can be used to guesstimate number of people hidden in a room

Re: the only "bodies" in a room are human.

Generation 8, coming real soon in 2035, of the technology will have the ability to distinguish pets from humans (including human pets) using a chip in the collar.

Holy life form sensors

Star Trek, you've done it again.

Judge: Georgia's e-vote machines are awful – but go ahead and use them

What is this supposed to mean?

"Totenberg suggested the state will have to introduce a more secure voting system that includes a paper trail ahead of the 2020 elections."

Does this mean that this is a court mandate? Another trial in early 2020?

Check out this link! It's not like it'll crash your iPhone or anything (Hint: Of course it will)

What if you have some older 32 bit applications which aren't available in 64 bit?

Then you're bit outta luck.

Python joins movement to dump 'offensive' master, slave terms

Re: Re:clearly no device should be the slave of another

What are you, some kind of Socialist?

Surely you know that you'll be the first against the wall when the machines take over.

And don't tell me to not call you Shirley.

Were you wondering...

...as I was, where yesterday's grammar and spelling dictators went? Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Python's Documentation Authors.

Personally, I associated 'master' and 'slave' in a BSDM context but that's just me.

I'll stick to my old O'Reilly books and occasional updates. Thank you very much.

The internet – not as great as we all thought it was going to be, eh?

Who shall poll the pollsters?

Was this question asked as part of a larger poll? Was this larger poll about the internet in general? There is more to the internet than just the web. How, exactly, was the question worded?

Youth wants to know.

What, me worry about the internet?

The Internet has been bery bery good to me.

If the web is the new television and podcasts are the new radio they will both go away when the next big thing comes along. Ohh, look. Shiny.

$200bn? Make that $467bn: Trump threatens to balloon proposed bonus China tech tariffs

Terry6, you betcha

Thanks for pointing out the difference between economics and commerce. There are plenty of people that think that because they took economics 102 and they are good at commerce that they must be experts at economics. So they are only looking at the bottom line of the last quarter. Like Agent Orange.

It's a dog and pony show for investors (each other), not for customers.

What do a meth, coke, molly, heroin stash and Vegas allegedly have in common? Broadcom cofounder Henry Nicolas

Re: Another affluenza victim, shirley.

Yet another corporate founder that is too big to fail.
