We're not throttling you, says Vodafone, claiming slow vid streaming is down to the 'cards'

Re: Bob the Builder

To some extent this is already addressed by content delivery networks. How these networks are hosted within Vodafone itself was probably what was going wrong here.

Sticking with one mobile provider gets you... Oh. Price rises, big exit fees, and lovely, lovely lock-in

Re: Hmm...

The current situation isn't just a 'lazy / stupid' tax, it is also a waste of people's time. I don't want to spend hours every year checking all my contracts and using comparison sites then switching (or threatening to) if I have to. If you added up all the hours wasted by everyone in the country I wouldn't be surprised if the cost outstripped the amount overpaid.

All that effort for no overall economic gain.

Or guarantees that only VMs for the same customer of a given security level are running on the same machine. This allows Amazon/Google/etc to continue managing the nuts and bolts of balancing load between your VMs.

Re: Looking at the wrong holes

The issue with these bugs is that even if your cloud VM is 100% secure, a malicious or careless user of another VM running on the same hardware can access your data. Security becomes out of your control.

Some people previously questioned the security of sharing hardware with lower security instances or 3rd parties but were constantly told there was no issue....
