Windows 10 can carry on slurping even when you're sure you yelled STOP!

So which is the one word? There? Is? No? Trust?

Apple iPhone X screen falls short of promises, lawsuit says

Re: Someone will Sue..

I would agree with you up until the true black comment. That makes a noticeable difference in video games for me.

Home users due for a battering with Microsoft 365 subscription stick

Re: Yes, what MS really needs now is more marketing...

I have no fear Microsoft would do this. Apple might, EA definitely would, but with Microsoft I'm comfortable knowing that I actually get what I buy.

Having swallowed its pride and started again with 10nm chips, Intel teases features in these 2019-ish processors

Re: TSMC not at 7nm until 2019? Really?

I learnt something new today. Thank you

Microsoft Surface kicks dust in face of Apple iPad Pro in Q3

Re: Doubt it

Yh those companies came to my head straight away as well.

Doubt it

A lot of people who use Linux wouldn't buy it just because it was made by Microsoft, irrespective of how well it runs Linux.

Not quite harsh

I'm sure Microsoft would rather sell a Huawei matebook than the person go and buy a MacBook or iPad. After all they actually stock the matebook in that store so they are obviously making money from it.

Virgin Media? More like Virgin Meltdown: Brit broadband ISP falls over amid power drama

Re: "I’m cut off from important things I need!"

Pretty sure there's already legislation in place in the UK such that if your service breaks then You're recompensed for the days it was down automatically.

Lancashire area seems to be fine. Bolton and Blackburn are good.

Re: An unhackable camera connected to a blockchain will do the trick.

Hopefully Mr McAfee will make an unhackable camera

Use Debian? Want Intel's latest CPU patch? Small print sparks big problem

Re: Take it

I'm aware of these Spectre based exploits and have a good understanding of how they're executed. Fact is, I use a lot of Windows only programs. I ain't got time to mess around with Linux and wine. Like I said I've got other things to worry about out here in the real world. Also, fortunately in my country there's certain laws which protect us from stood clauses in contacts because nobody bloggers to read them.

Take it

"We FOSS folk take this stuff seriously because we can."

Sounds like you're the one bending over. Most people don't care because we have actual things to worry about based outside in the real world.

Windows is coming to Chromebooks… with Google’s blessing

Re: Don't need it, thanks.

Exactly, he just described the hoops you have to jump through to get printing working, and at a slower rate as well. At the same time though I find it hard to imagine that the very people who aren't willing to jump through those hoops are likely to go through the trouble of installing windows on a Chromebook instead of just buying a window laptop.

One two three... Go: Long Pig Microsoft avoids cannibalising Surface

Re: No

1920 X 1080 = 2073600

1800 X 1200 = 2160000

The surface go has a slightly higher resolution and is going for the 3:2 aspect ratio which I find really works on the other surface devices for reading and annotating scientific journals. However, that's my personal usage scenario and the resolution probably isn't great for content consumption.

I bought a used surface pro 3 i7 8gb with keyboard and pen for £450 of eBay. Granted it's used but the condition was very good and it's probably more capable than the surface go. Larger screen with higher resolution too.

You're indestructible, always believe in 'cause you are Go! Microsoft reinvents netbook with US$399 ‘Surface Go’

The register sure love their song based pounds for titles now

Two articles in a row. I think I'm a clone now and this. Now I have those two songs as earworms. Thanks
