Re: Astroboffins. Really?
It is a term of respect.

Venom is only "black metal" retrospectively. It was proto-thrash and people called it heavy or speed metal at the time, but it was definitely nastier. The name of their album, Black Metal, was later applied to the subgenre, but they never really sounded like black metal, though are responsible for much of its aesthetic.
I think it could really do with a ranked matchmaking system so that new players go into raids against other new and similarly equipped players. Right now, there's nothing to stop some sweaty NEET from taking everyone out from across the map with a thermal scope, which is one of many reasons it's so brutal for noobs. However, everyone is a threat if they get the drop on you. More experienced players will take in minimal loadouts and defeat heavily armoured opponents with a pistol. Also, you could go in naked and find plenty of guns with which to arm yourself on the fly.
Hey, they're not so much recommendations as "here's what I've played this month". I'd hope that there is enough detail to help you decide whether it's something you'd enjoy. And I'm not strictly recommending Tarkov. I agree that it's interesting, which is why I chose to write about it, but otherwise it's a very difficult and frustrating game that's definitely not for everyone.
Like I said, it's exactly what I did, but also as I explained, Rockstar PC ports tend not to behave! I'm water-cooled etc too, mobo and CPU could do with an update soonish, though. But also it's completely possible for the game to run wonderfully. It's rather that there are settings here that probably aren't necessary, and it's surprising how much of a hit performance can take. Let us know how you get on.
Chaps. It isn't used "correctly". I wouldn't dare say it to my last-surviving grandparent. However, does it matter? No, yet you still wrote 200 words on the matter. And don't worry, myself and Mr Speed are firm friends with a stellar working relationship. It's just bants and it wasn't written without his approval. I'd say "don't make me say it", but someone already has.
