Won't be middle management

As usual they'll get rid of the people that actually do the work. The middle management layer will shovel it all downhill and the flocks of useless project managers will remain at their posts, vying for the time of the few remaining engineers, then trying to shore it up with contractors while all the domain knowledge for the work they are doing gets flushed down the P45 toilet.

Microsoft extends free Windows 10 S to Win 10 Pro upgrade offer

Seriously considered Surface Pro.

If portability is top priority its probably alright. Bang for buck its very not particularly alright. I looked into this seriously earlier this year, compared specs with other companies and went with MSI, got a much higher spec machine in the same price range and without a version of Win 10 that's had its nads cut off.

MS need to understand they're just not cool enough for the cool kids to pay a premium and too expensive for most anyone to bother. There's some nice features but they're not killer features.

And Bing. Meh to the Nth. Internet searches powered by Clippy in a hamster wheel.

DIY music veteran SoundCloud flounders, lays off 40% of staff

Not a shock...

They stopped supporting the little guys with a concerted move to deals with UMG and others. At that point functionality in their product dropped like a rock for the little guys and consequently a lot of people that had supported them in the early years seethed for a bit then voted with their money and went elsewhere. They offer so little now if you're an unknown artist you're almost better just making your own website using a cheap package and sharing from there rather than using SoundCloud.

Still a decent platform to share music on but others such as Hearthis.at have long since overtaken them as better platforms for sharing music with features such as higher quality and lossless streaming.

They might like to quote big numbers for listeners but not many of them will be paying subscribers since the benefits for paying are very little now.
