Red Hat's OpenShift Container Platform openly shifts storage into the hands of devs

WTF?

You have got to be kidding me!!

2 things come to mind here.

1. "In a statement, Ashesh Badani, VP and general manager of OpenShift at Red Hat, said the update addresses "the growing storage needs of both stateful and stateless applications across the hybrid cloud, allowing for coexistence of modern and future-forward workloads on a single, enterprise-ready platform."

WTF how about speaking good English, like what I do??

2. Who will take the blame when cock-ups occur and the systems start falling apart, oh yes, the sysadmin.

I am so glad I am retired and don't have to deal with this shit anymore.

Thumb Down

Not excusing this sort of behavior, but these people are dumb to think that techs will not see the drive contents. When I worked for IBM and had to send my laptop in for repair, it was a requirement that the hdd was removed. If I had to send a laptop for repair now I would remove the hdd, I have nothing to hide but it's my data and ONLY I control it.

IBM staffer at risk of redundo? Capita will wipe away your tears

Joke

IBM HR is full of shit

As an ex-IBMer, I lost my job in 2003 in the US, I can honestly say that IBM does not give a shit about those laid off, any "Employee Assistance" is a very sick joke. My sympathies to those in this position.
