It's that black orb in the field I'm worried about..
Excellent Friday morning rant!
I can't help thinking that AMD and nVidia missed a trick by not incorporating silicon that could do bitcoin/litecoin etc calculations. Think of all the coin farms they could have sold GPUs too.
Or even a separate line of low watt high power *coin chips to really worry the competition.
GPUs lost out to FPGA and ASIC due to power/performance per watt a long time ago. If they could nail the low power and have massive giga/tera hash products people would be queuing up to buy.
A sideline of their engineers working on this could surely pull off something amazing.
I guess its too niche.
Who's driving cars on the pavement?
Surely they should be listening to cars driving on wet roads..

Commander Scott Kelly was asked this the other day if he used amateur radio - no license.
Did anyone else read this and think it wasn't only his feet he got wet?
Maybe instead they'll teach how to do a Scandinavian flick before applying the handbrake to turn the car around?
They probably will, in a round-about way.
The Nexus 4 runs beautifully, this update has breathed new life into the phone, I have moved on to a OnePlus One though, and seeing Lollipop on the N4 I can't wait for it on the OnePlus One :)
The Nexus 7 2012 runs like a dog - it improved slightly by wiping the cache from the Bootloader>Recovery menu but still frustrating to use, unless you are very patient!!
Time left and time to charge are great additions to the OS.
Last year I got a WatchGuard XTM8 (810) 10port/1Gbe port firewall/VPN appliance for £50 off eBay (normally £12,000) but with no PSU and no g'tee it worked.
Replacement PSU £40.
pfSense (free) installed with help from some of the forum members as it is a bit finicky having no COM1 but has COM2 on board.
Works like a dream, Intel Quad Core CPU and 2GB ram as standard.
I've still yet to figure out why I need the ability for 500k connections to my home broadband, but at least I'm covered ;)
Awesome phone, even if I had to wait a week to get an invite :)
Or pick up a HP Microserver, FreeNAS/Nas4Free/Windows Home Server and 4 drives for about the same as these without drives.
I've SteamOS running fine on a 320gig hard drive, I'm sure it will be happy on a smaller one too.
Try living near scan.co.uk!
Mircosoft are doing door step swaps on faulty kit, however this requires a £600 security deposit which is refunded once the Xbox One is received in Prague and confirmed not to be a household brick in a box.
What I would like to do is to pop one of these engines in to replace the 1.6 in my 205 GTI.
Now that would be interesting.
It was only the 486DX onwards where the math co-pro was incorporated into the chip. 486SX no math co-pro.
386SX was a 32bit chip with a 16bit data bus - no math co-pro on board.
386DX was a 32bit chip with a 32bit data bus - no math co-pro on board.
387 Math co-pro's were separate chips.
The math co-pro was quite a bit dearer than the cpu back in the day.
Did anyone else think of Q or was it just me?
Or owners could protect their kit by using preyproject.org.
I'd be interested in some sort of Reg Tutorial on putting something low cost together and configured, even if only for home use.
Looks like they have top men working on it. TOP MEN.
No doubt they will all end up on eBay..
No doubt some pen pushing council operative will decide we need another fucking recycling bin to put something into.
Shouldn't it be:
All your face belong to us..
*Throws money at screen*
It said: "With the Meebo team’s expertise in social publisher tools, we believe they will be a great fit with the Google Plus team."
I'm amazed the word 'synergy' wasn't used.
It's called quantisation.
You could try Eve Online ;)
Come back when you can string a sentance together.
Me too, HP Microserver N36L £129 after cashback, 2x2TB Samsung F4 drives @ £70each (week after the floods just before they rocketed up) and Windows Home Server 2011 - £40, and 8gb of Ram for about £40.
Hooked up on gigabit ethernet - 109/mbs all day.
Well I had one, it was the first computer I learned to program on.
Don't forget the plug in joypads, double cartridge expansion - for RAM and games!
Mowerman was my fave as was the spy shooter I cannot recall.
I feel you pain also :(
Fixing the nations roads back to pre-pot hole times.
Chain gang style.
Lets hope they get Fleet bonus's too.
When asked what he thought about the collaboration, betweem film, internet dotcoms and ex NASA boffs, astronaught Tom Jones replied 'It's not unusual'.
Dropbox starts at 2gig free, and now goes up to 16gig if referrals join :)
'In addition to Sony’s Internet TV platform, you can use this TV as a DNLA receiver to watch content from your PC or Mac.'
Did anyone else read this as 'In addition to Sony’s Internet TV platform, you can use this TV as a DNLA receiver to watch porn from your PC or Mac.'??
It should read:
"The archdiocese immediately sought the advice of the PSNI who indicated that would be an ecumenical matter."
Shoot the moon!
He should totally write his own OS.
Easier for the crystal shortage too ;)
'Live long and prosper' is what the girl on the left is saying ;p
May the Vulture be with you always.
Nowhere to be seen.
But I do have one :)
