UK will be 'cut off' from 'full intelligence picture' after Brexit – Europol strategy man

Re: Okay, riddle me this

"Yes, an operational agreement can be put in place"

These agreements are mostly controlled or heavily influenced by the US-Government, a phone call from May to Obama will see to it that British wishes will be heard and followed by the EU.

"it won't give access to all the systems that the UK can currently access."

Why should Britain care? Having plenty of spy-systems of their own, Echelon, just to quote one of them, they will get all the data they want this way or via another country having access to it. So far the government and Gloustershire never cared about legality, so what's new?

Windows 10 free upgrade offer ends on July 29th

The pest won't stop...

MS has still got to fulfill their contract with the NSA to forward all user data they collect.

Forcing users to install Windows 10 malware for free makes no commercial sense at all. They would gain more by selling the OS to late comers AFTER THE DEADLINE! Hence the push has other reasons - NSA!

Americans cutting back on online activity over security and privacy fears

Long time ago I blocked internet access to my banking accounts in Germany/France. Also reduced the overdraft allowance, generally quite high, to zero. Social groups like Facebook, never. Windows 10 never. Rarely buy something with credit card on the internet, now with the so called Verify process I'll probably stop altogether - they ask for so much personal information - in my view that increases the risk by 100%, should this be hacked/breached which seems very likely. When going to shops, I reverted to cash-payments - no more use of the credit card. Any site requiring registration before allowing access to information or prices, I leave immediately. e-mails I only use for non-sensitive data.

Many administrative agencies offer their services by internet now, like invoices electricity, tax declaration etc. I accept none of these. I stick to regular mail and paper. I have one computer, no mobile or any other gadget connected to the internet, No wireless either.

Basically I use the internet exclusively for information research, nothing else. E-mails I largely replace with letters by post, specially if they contain personal data.

I consider this as absolutely necessary to protect myself.

Microsoft will explain only 'significant' Windows 10 updates

Re: @Mark 85 The seem to be going in an unsavory direction...

I still work with XP classic with many extensions, but have two Laptops with W7 and 8.1 unused as yet, which are extremely slow compared to XP. XP will remain on my desktop with no access for Microsoft or Internet as long as possible.

7 and 8.1 I find the worst ever Windows, 10 with it's spying even worse.

So, I'm switching to Linux. I didn't before because it takes time to get used to a new OS, but having seen the Win 7,8,10 - and finding nothing I look for, continually being faced with this stupidity: you have no right to access this file, getting totally lost, worst ever systems, Linux now definitely looks like a dream and I prefer applying my effort to Linux rather than waisting it on Microsoft.

Just wonder how many people will switch OS away from Microsoft. Starting new with Win 8/10 in the end isn't much different to familarizing oneself with Linux...
