BBC said it'll pull radio streams from TuneIn to slurp more of your data but nobody noticed till Amazon put its foot in it

Re: No.

Couldn't agree more. I am also a 6 music devotee, accessed via iPlayer radio on my mobile phone. So I have lost the alarm function, and the ability to navigate the schedules in a sensible manner, thanks to the "improved" BBC sounds app. I had just started looking at using google assistant + tunein to create a recurring alarm, when I read this. Spent about an hour trying to get assistant to reliably play 6 Music by voice command - so that I could incorporate into an alarm - very hit or miss (mainly miss). Can just about make it play 6 music, but (get this!) ONLY when assistant manages to open the now defunkt iPlayer radio app, and makes it play 6 Music DESPITE the BBC sounds splash screen ;-)

Any tips for how to get google assistant to play 6 music on sounds app, and then to get it to do that within a daily alarm, very welcome!

Re: Eek!

Yup, I have two fig trees in my place in Italy, and there is constant traffic from european hornets. We sit on the back terrace, about 10 feet from the nearest fig tree, and no hornet has ever paid us the slightest bit of attention. Even when I climb the tree in mid-August, to pluck the best figs, they will coexist quite happily in general.

Glad their nest isn't in my garden, though!

EUROPEAN PURGE on hated mobile roaming charges

bundle?

This doesn't address the issue of eligibility of domestic bundle for usage abroad. IIRC, the previous proposed legislation that should have kicked in this year (but was aborted) explicitly stated that your domestic bundle would be usable whilst roaming in any EU country. Anyone know if the new legislation will include this?

Euro ministers ditch plan to ban roaming charges

A 3G router (and changing user agent to a mobile browser client on any PC you connect) gets around the tethering issue, and allows all mobiles to share the one SIM data plan. I didn't know about the 3 month limit though - do you have a link to any info on that? I use a 3 PAYG SIM for regular trips to my place in Italy; those trips are cumulatively around 11 weeks per year, so just under the limit you mention - but I thought I'd read the T's & C's pretty carefully and all they said was that the free roaming was intended for occasional use, and that where 3 suspected excessive, exclusively foreign usage they reserved the right to suspend or bar the SIM. I never saw any hard limit of x days, weeks or months per year ... but the terms have changed since I did my research 3 years ago??

Telefónica to offload O2 to Three daddy Hutchison for £10.25bn

using an O2 bundle abroad?

So if the deal goes through, will Three extend to O2 customers their fantastic policy of allowing free use of UK call/data/text bundles whilst roaming in various supported foreign countries?

... and on a related topic, what has happened to the EU's proposed move to price all INTRA-EU roaming same as home tariff - thought this was due in 2015 but all seems to have gone very quiet?
