I've been using backspace to go back for years and really annoyed me when I couldn't do it on a google search results page, because they intercepted my backspace and used it to edit my search terms, when I wasn't even in the search box. This should definitely be an option that people can turn on and off rather be dictated to.

Question: Can you still use Shift+Backspace to go forwards?

Version number screwup

This sentence makes no sense at all:

If the version after that was a non-security update, it would be 9.1.1. The next bug squashed in the 9.1 series would earn itself 9.1.1.

Just seen this movie tonight

It's not a film about wrestling, it's a film about an eccentric millionaire with only one facial expression.

I thought the film was a bit on the long side and ran at a constant plodding pace throughout. Whilst I can't fault the performances, it was a bit dull. A person in the row in front of me said (as soon as the credits began) "that was the dullest film I've ever seen, can I get my money back?"

So while the performances were good, it's not worth going to see. Wait until it comes on TV.

Charge up at the supermarket

If it takes 20 mins to get a reasonable charge into the car, I suspect fill-up stations at supermarkets will prove popular. Charge up the car whilst you do your shopping.

Getting rid of the left hand column - ok.

Adding the picture at the top of the story - waste of time - get rid.

The bar that hovers at the top of the page when you scroll - hate these on every website that does them - get rid.

Visited link colour - needs higher contrast, it's not as obvious what you've looked at.

Generally de-cluttered - ok.

Personally I wish you'd put a fraction of this effort into proofing your articles. Not a day goes by when I don't notice typos and mistakes in the copy. This is a real problem. There were no real problems with the old layout.
