Having offended everyone else in the world, Linus Torvalds calls own lawyers a 'nasty festering disease'

I've met Linus Torvalds

I've met Linus Torvalds. He's a nice guy.

The real issue here is that everyone is way to fragile anymore. People can't handle criticism. Obviously ya'll weren't spanked as a child... poor things... all those raw feelings and confusing emotions. Really, you need your asses kicked.

You're blaming Linus for being passionate about something HE CREATED. He doesn't put up with stupidity. Especially when it comes to his life-long project. How many of you have sworn at someone cutting you off in traffic? Did you get upset? Yeah, I thought so. Well the same rule applies here. Linus cares about his life's work. He cares about what he does and doesn't want stupidity added to his project.

If you think for one second, you wouldn't get mad at someone kicking your sand castle down, you're a LIAR. Oh, and if anyone has a problem with this comment, you can kiss my ass.

Why?

Dude, why are you purposely trying to stir up trouble? The only thing I could see in this whole article was a writer who wanted to cause a ruckus and get more hits. Why does it matter if he accepted the code, he already admitted it was for selfish reasons. Why pretend that you caught him with his pants down?

He has never put himself on a pedestal. He admits his human failures and is the first one to point them out. Yet, everyone else puts him on a pedestal and then gets mad at him for actually being a human. Can't you all just deal? Friggin children.

Just use Linux!

I've been using Linux with the Cinnamon DE for about 10 years. (switched from Gnome 2 to Cinnamon a couple years ago). I choose when to install updates, I can even hand-pick which updates happen. Cinnamon is a familiar interface, much like WinXP or Win7, only I like Cinnamon better.

All these complaints everyone is having can be fixed with a simple switch to Linux. You have tons of choices in how it looks, how it feels, how it operates, how it installs software... all you need to do is change for the better. Some people will have a little bit of a learning curve as Linux is a different OS, some will welcome the learning curve as it gives you more control over everything. It took me about 2 weeks to get used to the changes when I switched 10 years ago, but I wouldn't ever want to give those changes back. I hate the way windows looks/feels and operates.

If you're new and don't know... try Linux Mint or Fedora with the Cinnamon DE and you'll understand what I mean.

Cinnamon

Most of you that are complaining about the missing/changed features of Gnome 3, obviously haven't tried Cinnamon. Cinnamon is everything Gnome 3 was supposed to be (...back when you were excited about the release of Gnome 3, until they released it).

Cinnamon has the advanced design, pretty popups, kicker/start menu... I keep hoping that Fedora will switch to Cinnamon, but there are way to many Fedora devs working on Gnome 3 for that to ever happen. Red Hat may as well just buy Gnome, for how many people are working under both umbrellas.

I think for the 28 people using Gnome 3, (and actually like it) there is way too much pride there to admit defeat. So they keep pumping out "better" features and it is still the same pig that they released 3 years ago... now it just has a shiny bowtie on it.

Yay Gnome! The only DE to over double the amount of choices we have with one version number change. (We now have MATE, Unity, Cinnamon, Gnome 3, Gnome fallback mode (nice name), plus all the other choices we used to have).

Re: Gnome?

Cinnamon has a start menu.
