And taking the effort to look one step further ahead than everyone else generally bothers to.
In which case they're just paying out the rope to apple.
For US transport planes with Snowden-shaped rendition cargo on those flight paths.
I hope all the legal project documentation is being done on paper with lemon juice ink cos, you know, they'll be reading those emails for sure.
If I made some software and put a back door into it, I think I'd go to prison or at least expect to be sued lots and lots by every single customer whose shit I'd intentionally compromised.
Unless that backdoor was for the NSA, presumably.
NSA still more unpopular than Snowden
That someone in mastercard grew a pair.
I suspect the truth is somewhat different and altogether less savoury, however.
Final pint of the day for everyone BUT the card processing companies and their bedfellows.
Protest about data stealing by data stealing
Who the fuck is Jay Z anyway?
Friday, so pint for all, even Appleists (as it's free)
I do enjoy the irony of how he's "protecting the USA" by essentially embodying pretty much everything the rest of the world (and a good number of US folk) looks down on it for.
More than he did 30 secs ago...
I'd have thought any competent hacker would just use metasploit to see if they actually even _needed_ to bother scripting anything cunning in anything other than PHP. Much as I love PHP for getting webdev stuff done I can't imagine it being the weapon of choice for a hardcore hacker. Not that I can be arsed to hack anything anyway unless someone's asked me to do a security audit cos they're too cheap to hire someone who knows that shit inside out and lives/breathes it.
LOL @ Neighbourhood spastic.
Those lone 'survivalist' gun nuts with their own corrugated metal bunkers and crazy alien abduction paranoias
But in an internetty kind of way. He maybe even has PTSD of some form, too, to help his eyes swivel better.
Ahh that's what I was thinking of ;o)
If any 'thingy' is covered anywhere in the world under FRAND then litigants should be compelled to sue under the terms of FRAND or, if not signed up to it then they can't sue until they are.
This is just obvious exploitation of a loophole by maniacally cackling greed-obsessed charlatans.
I hope they, their offspring and their reproductive pool all contract fucking Ebola and die horrifically. Preferably on YouTube so we can have a good giggle.
Oh yeah. Ameritrollican.
I'm sure companies from other countries must do this racketeering but to be honest I can't think of any.
If you need that explaining then tough
Or perhaps "Obama is an utter fucking liar"
Which statement is easier to believe?
I took the OP to mean recompiling ARM vs x86/whatever to run on non-Pi rather than thinking the Pi isn't Linux... maybe not ;o)
I mean everyone knows the Pi is (primarily) Linux, right..?
I wondered if that were the same DVDJon. Good man, still busy with stuff!
As for a Linux version, if you can get the sources of the Pi packages surely you can compile them onto any *nix pretty much ? I'd assume the player side treats the Pi as a media Renderer (or the Pi treats the Android app as one).
Either way XBMC should help you there, esp with the excellent YATSE android remote control app.
150ft tall with missile launchers and gauss rifles a la Mechwarrior (I wish they'd make a new one...)
Where's your ambition sigh
Doesn't sound like a hack to me.
Moreover it sounds like AT&T were the ones responsible for distributing them.
Good luck keeping it that way
Yep, coppers being videoed beating people up could increase, politicians caught pinching cute women's backsides, accidental egress from a whorehouse, etc
God forbid the public might be able to record as much behaviour as Us without Us being able to get to it first and destroy it, must get ahead of the curve and legislate in Our own favour.
I would submit that the amount of backstabbing and bastardness is directly proportional to the greed & avarice of those involved.
So is a good indicator of who to distrust in the first place as you attempt to weave your way through life as comfortably as you're able with the minimum of outright bullshit.
Black helicopter cos a good conspiracy theory will always deflect attention from what shitty behaviour you're really up to
Your mother was a hamster and your father smelled of elderberries!
'ave yew a leesaanse feur de minkey ?
And so forth
And be suitably smug that none of _their_ employees feel they're doing something so out of order against their own populations that it needs a good leaking.
Maybe.. just maybe
e.g. pornhub.com/contactus (I bet it doesn't even have to be a valid url, either, esp when "automated")
Having used the wife's Galaxy Note 10.1
Ohhh but their hat is white and there's a poor likelihood of getting a payout from them for the MAFIAA.
So they're allowed.
It hits the wall, Truman Show style...
HMRC are following statute, something set by the idiot politicians.
Though I'd rather they suspended/seized a company's assets rather than give them a 85% reduction in tax bill by negotiation on £6BN or whatever
I should imagine though, that a judge who's had enough of apple's pram-face can say 'fine you're scheduled for preliminary hearings in 2017, as we're a bit busy with dickheads clogging up the system for everyone else.'
Weapons division = government pork for R&D.
R&D = invention and innovation (something still apple dimly remembers)
Which translates into tech for consumers.
The AC's (Apple Cultists) will disagree, natch, but they'll be the ones appreciating stuff like ABS and traction controls systems on their cars which comes from 'weapons grade' Formula One Car R&D. Same principle.
Still, the thought of One Infinite Loop as a Korean-crafted smoking hole in the ground does have its appeal.
Apple, the incessant whiner of people copying it's shit, releases
May I be among the first to raise a weekend-ahoy glass to another halving of their share price.
Pint for all.
A proficient lawyer NEVER shows you what his hands are doing.
Is the scariest word in the world.
Roughly translated it means 'We sure do got some biiig guns an we is a-comin fo ya, right or wrong' or possibly 'we goan be a-havin us a lynchin party yeah!'
Yes, that really is how the rest of the world thinks of the USA as a nation.
No. That's what minions are for.
'He' will be on the Whitehouse lawn sipping 'Camommiilytea' with a smug grin safe in the knowledge of how those expensive-per-hour jets are bringing a 'traitor' to 'justice'.
Presumably Justice is a small town in Arkansas/Cuba/Egypt or something, rather than the dictionary definition.
The chocolate factory could do worse than make an offer
"protect UK citizens and interests against terrorism threats"
Gather more data for the NSA under the 'Special Relationship'
"enable the agencies to operate more effectively"
Dear NSA, here's your PRISM login to GCHQ
"protecting Britain from the terrorist threat remains a top priority"
The Yanks wanted more data, and were happy to contribute to the cost
"the police counter terrorism budget will not be cut"
Had a great lunch with those fab guys at the ACPO
"Single Intelligence Account settlement"
Unaccountable slush fund
"protect the country from online threats"
Increased internet Surveillance
"raising awareness of the cyber threat"
Encouraging businesses to do our work for us
For those FRANDy things?
I thought the reason it had got this far was that they'd paid *nothing* and only offered comedy amounts?
Then you can cross out the A and tippex in a U :oD
In fact if they're free can you bag me one (or more)
Switch to Open Source.
@Nextweek - I hadn't even thought of that...
That chunk in the bank will help towards offset mortgage, too... cunning. Will be looking into that and doing some maths.
Just as well Timmy took a performance related pay-stock-money thingy then.
Still, half of absolutely-fecking-loadsa-money is still fecking-loadsa-money so he'll be laughing all the way to
Belize the bank regardless.
They opened the lid/screen at the wrong angle.
Literally, most likely.
Fair play though, if they manage to stiff some rich idiot investors for a bundle of cash, it does seem to be like shooting
plutocrats fish in a barrel
Actually if you're in the UK then your darling daughter should not have been accepted by Apple as you can't enter into a contract under 16 years of age (unless that's changed).
Onus on Apple to verify applicants' ages afaik, their fault. Tough.
He still gets 672,877 shares regardless of performance (if he's still working there) which is just shy of 270M at $400/share.
Even if the share price halves again that's $135M... unless I read it totally wrong (not impossible)
Such a sacrifice
