Regular or premium? Intel pumps out Optane memory at CES

Is it way below the hype

The density is low. The glossy paper compares the speed as faster than spinning disk. This does not appear in anyway to be a flash killer.

New prequel needed

They need to do another prequel where the Storm Trooper clone vat and training center is hacked so the troopers become such lousy shots. Lower the skills and lower the acceptable threshold when training is evaluated.

Exercise Option.

Don't we generally need more exercise anyways. Bring it on.

Trump will revoke that law

I can see Trump removing that law pretty quick. There will be no negative reviews allowed of Trump.

Rogue One: This is the Star Wars back story you've been looking for

It is not "yet another death star". This is the death star Luke blows. It is the same one that we first saw back in the 1980's. This move is a prequel to Episode IV and answers the question how did they learn about that exhaust port and what designer would make a mistake like that.

The UK's Investigatory Powers Act allows the State to tell lies in court

bring the law up in count

The law itself invalidates any evidence it may relate to. Simply any evidence covered by the law is not to be trusted by the court and is therefore unusable for a conviction.

If ever facing prosecution where there prosecution may lie, simply bring the law to the attention of the court and that the evidence then being admitted by the crown is not to be trusted as they are legally allowed to be making it up. The fact that the evidence could be fabricated and that there is no pressure for that side to tell the truth should bring the evidence into question.

Sysadmin's former boss claims five years FREE support or off to court

there were other options

You can't be forced to work for free. I doubt the contract specified anything about compensation during the "post work" period. Seems to me like he passed up on an option for some really creative billing on his part. Would likely have need some time with a cooperative attorney -

on call fee per second for every second of the day (seems like they did not consider on/off times)

a per incident fee

a per message fee

maintenance of personal equipment on going fees

personal training on going fees

after hours consulting rate with minimum per incident cost

personal transportation rate ....

cost of recording and retaining incident information

HTML renderer

A web broser is a rendering application running on the endusers machine. As such the rendering process is under control of the end user application.

A) fetching of HTML data is allowed simply by having a server provide the DATA out a standard port

B) there is no requirement that an end user application fetch all referred elements of a page or render the entier page

C) an HTML page is just DATA. A renderer process the data onto a display.

D) There is no contract that an HTML page must be rendered nor how it is rendered. Although convetion does suggest that the render standard be followed.

This tool demands access to YOUR ENTIRE DIGITAL LIFE. Is it from GCHQ? No - it's by IKEA

rgriffith

Likely just means it can read and write files to the local machine. Say to load or save your design. As it also communicates with ikea, the warning is just stating the implications of that access.

Your web browser itself and pretty much any application should have the same warnings.

Could NASA make Graivty II and generate some of its own funding? They would not need much of a special effects budget. No green screen. No wires.
