Re: Why do people still use 123reg ?
Same reason people use the likes of Capita - the bad news stories don't get as far as we think.

There are some tougher phones about. Bullitt make them and there's someone else whose name I can't remember too.
Mostly branded as Land Rover, JCB etc. IP68 and big batteries.
If my BB dies, I'm tempted with one of the Land Rover phones, but worried about looking like a poser (I drive a Defender).
Nope, with double entry book keeping, the server you bought has a value on the balance sheet. Tax credit in year one too.
Advantage of cloud is flexibility. If I opened an online shop, I'd want it to be on a cloud server just in case there was a sudden increase in sales. Cheaper than having spare hardware on standby.
These things are going to go wrong. As the passengers don't own the vehicle, there's likely to be more wear and tear. Add to that the safety concerns and there are going to be frequent service intervals.
Just become a mechnanic. No different to horse and cart drivers becoming car drivers 100 years ago.
My Dad has a Kindle Fire HD. Lovely piece of kit - fast to respond and brilliant screen. Problem is that you have to use Amazon's own app store which is always slow to update. He likes to play Words With Friends, but the version on Amazon is ancient. Yes, I will get round to side loading from a 'proper' Android tablet, but there's no way he could do this without my help.
I've not flown for 10 years. Last international flight was 13 years ago. I think I'd have a very nasty shock if I were to see the changes in the last 10+ years. At 6'2", it was nasty back then (why do seats recline?), sounds far worse now.
Penguin 'cos they don't fly either.
I went past some charging points in York the other day. Limited to one hour. Therefore, you'd have to park your car, go to work/shops, return after an hour, hope another parking space available.
Still doesn't add up beyond a daily commute with charging at home, overnight.
Like an earlier poster mentioned - shortage of unicorn tears is the problem.
