Samsung Galaxy's flagship leaks ... don't matter much. Here's why

Demogenes

Just a general comment from someone converting from Apple to Samsung (for now at least)

Hmm I changed from Apple because I didn’t want to fork out for the iPhone Excess. I bought a Note 9. Altough I love the hardware on the Note 9...that bixby button that can’t be remapped/disabled without 3rd party app. Sorry even in iPhone you can disable Siri. I find the android nagware from Samsung a real bummer. Two app stores, why not use one?

Oh and just a again... BIXBY... plus Google assistant everything is doubled up... apart from my experience which is double down.

And one more thing, the jack is a very old technology, even Apple gives you a headphone that fits into the charger. I am quite sure Samsung and others will do the same. You are more than likely not forced to buy a new (wireless) headset.

To be honest, I switched to mac back in 2009. I used it for my work because my company provided most programs in mac versions. I tried 5-6 office suites before submitting to the fact that Microsoft was just better at that. The only thing I miss in terms of software on the mac is Visio. I'm sure Microsoft knows this and that stops them from developing Visio for Mac, just like they refuse to release a 64 bit version of office for mac (until Apple cuts 32 bit support, can't see that being far off since it's been done for IOS now). In the end Office is probably the best office software out there. Most staff uses it, which makes it a standard between businesses. Most staff knows how to use it and it drives cost down on having to (re)train staff.

the currrent version has a web-browser and I think email program too.

So I'd guess the new one does also... but it's... fairly basic (just as a warning)

Sonos will deny updates to those who snub rewritten privacy terms

Bose tried this recently with their QC35s... took a law suite and information quickly came out how to disable it. Bose learned fairly quick....

My guess is there could be a similar outcome here.

Personally I do own devices from Sonos but I'm not accepting something like that. If it stops working I know where to send the letter(s). I can not really see why they need my personal data, they should be happy I pay the money for it that I do. :)

Why I just bought a MacBook Air instead of the new Pro

Good pooints and same conclusion as mine.

One slight remark The last mbp's that could be modified was the 2011. I have that and it can be upgraded.

Re: Gartner... oh Gartner. Why do you bother?

Humorous rewrite but... I don't think we can disagree with actually disagree with Gartners figures... and apple haven't released new products so everybody seems to be waiting for...

If you as a vendor don't put out new products when the consumers wants it, then people hold off, waiting to see what is coming... That goes for the mac pro, macbook pro, macbook air. I know from myself I am waiting to see what is coming and for that reason I am keeping what I have for now.

Win XP? Your PLAGUE risk is SIX times that of Win 8 - NOW

Demogenes

Could it be 6 times as likely because there are 6 times as many xp users as windows 8 users? :))

Post-PC world? POST-MAC WORLD more like

Personally I have held on to my current macbook pro for 2.5+ years and it does all, including most importantly run star craft 2 ;) and my workstation as a vm.

My 5 cent's worth of what all the analysts read into with dwindling sales is: The "space race" is over. People don't need to refresh a laptop/workstation once a year to do their latest tasks. Thus yes the sales fall but it's not because people don't need to buy them any more, the PC's people have simply live longer. Add to that peoples resistance to trust M$ with their new OS releases

Vista made me doubt M$, Testing Windows 7 made me change to Mac. I don't see a lot of Windows 8 users, and I don't see anybody clapping their hands over Windows 8.1.
