Folks, this is why we work in IT. The geniune gratitude of a user for a task well done - be it simple or otherwise - makes up for a great deal of dickheaded twuntery we all have to put up with.
This guy deserves his medal, if only for making something happen in a workplace that, like many of ours, seems to do all it can to prevent anything at all from happening.
Agreed. And it gives Turnbull the capacity to back-pedal. If the likes of Hackett state "Implementing FTTP will save x billion over 50 years compared to maintaining FTTN + copper" then Turnbull can recommend the implementation of FTTP with a straight face. After all, we all know he wants to, but is currently forced to answer to two chumps and a retard.

Best argument I've read on el Reg for a very long time. Well done, sir. Apple may do many things well, but those you mention are a detriment to our industry. And we're here because we love this industry, right? Not because we hate it and want it to die, strangled by the likes of Apple.
