Long-term Linux Mint: 19.3 release unchains the Gimp, adds HiDPI, is kind to your older, less-beefy kit

Re: HDMI and Audio

Yup, I also have sound prefs on as a shortcut and a pactl set-card-profile script for when it forgets that analog-stereo exists. Not a huge problem just one of those little annoyances

Ubuntu 19.06 sort of remembered that HDMI also has audio after I set it once, but only had a short time to play with it while setting up a friends machine

Is HDMI and Audio still borked?

I know it was in Ubuntu 18.04 and Debian 9 both of which fail at any kind of auto detect (I have a whole bunch of scripts to swap stuff around from the shell). Recent install of Ubuntu 19.06 seemed a bit better, but not great.

I so agree about the YOGA advert, I have the misfortune of having a YOGA and apart from it being dog slow and unreliable that Ad will ensure I never get another Lenovo

Look on the bright side, Pebble fans. At least your gizmo will work long enough for you to get beach body ready

Fitbit can do one as far as I'm concerned. Still wearing my Pebble despite the fact I have to take it apart every now and then to fix the screen tearing but there is still nothing to replace it.

I just want 3 things

1.Always on screen

2.Battery of a week or more

3.Notifications

Was going to get a Vector watch...But then bloody Fitbit bought them and and dismantled that company too

Re: Pebble don't always listen

Maybe they have...My TrekV2 watchface updated yesterday and I'm sure I didn't do anything.

I got a free Nest

NPower are also doing nest for free on one of their fixed tarrifs. I signed up for one because my old stat is only accurate +-10 deg or so. Controlling from my phone or pebble :) is a bonus as I work shifts and reprogramming every week is a huge pain

despite what the law supposedly says it is up to the user to prove defect was present at manufacture and then get the retailer to repair or replace. This is almost impossible to do with scumbag retailers such as Vodafone who charge £150 to "repair" a latent defect on a 13month old iPhone
