"A soap masquerading as a SciFi series."
This.
It's all about relationships now. Dull as ditch-water.

"...for the Israeli war hawks that have long wanted the land Gaza currently occupies"
Israel owned Gaza from 1967 to 2005. They voluntarily vacated it and gave it to the palestinians, with a fully functional economic base. Which the palestinians destroyed and then voted Hamas in to power 9 to 1.
Israel isn't the problem here.
"While the US is clearly a complete basket case, it is worth pointing out that, of the major economies, it is probably the one with the hardest geography. Of course it has major centres of populations, but it also has wide open spaces, with small towns in them. That tends to significantly reduce real competition."
All true.
"Nothing that a dose of strong regulation couldn't fix"
Really? How? Without pushing up prices for users in built up areas...
"...airports are too cheap to hire enough personnel to run security efficiently."
No, actually it's passengers who are too cheap to allow airports to run security efficiently. If you want to pay peanuts for your flight to Majorca, the airlines can't pay for all those extra security bodies.
"When you pay streamers for your products, the creatives get peanuts."
This. I have seen an in-depth analysis of what an artist gets for a single release on a variety of formats. The CD single is far better for everyone concerned but listeners have fallen for the convenience of streaming, so the artists get practically nothing.
