They only went in the 60's to beat the Russki's - didn't give two hoots until then. Didn't seem to care who they killed to get it. Didn't give two hoots now until China showed an interest. Capitalist planning = find something someone else has planned to acquire or wants, and break any rules you need to get it first. Sad.
That said, Space-X appears to be further along than any, and that's an evil capitalist running dog lackey (I'm out of practice - that the right term?). They'll open it up to all comers, but charge admission :-), probably put the first Disney world up there under license. Before NASA get their act together, Chinese tourists will be visiting Elon's lunar theme park.
Perhaps Pence's dream is just the American Empire's Last Hurrah... Time to wake up.
Non routed packets...... OK, STUXNET was created with the expectation of no access to the internet, and worked a treat. The use of Very High Density Very high Latency packets(USB etc) got around this, and can again. And before you point out the highly secure environments in US military, I'm sure IRAN has the same security features, didn't do them any good.
Elon, hallowed be his name, grew weary of USA and NASA's continual do nothing a while ago. Once he gets his dragon operating "anyone" will be able to go to the Moon, and hopefully Mars. It'll simply be a matter of stumping up the cash (and I hear he's already selling tickets to the Moon).
Upvote for Werner Von Braun's build em in space, its the way, however that would take Elon & Jeff co-operating and I cant see it happening.
If you cannot see all the traffic betwixt switch and satellite you're buggered.
Use ntop to see all traffic once you can plug in to a spanned port or better yet between the two.
If you can put something between the two have it cache web traffic as a pass through.
Ntop is web based so light.
Any crappy old PC can run it.
If you can get hold of smooth wall with proxy you should be right.
Amazing how many 'articles' Page manages to produce..
Almost as if he had no other job to go to;-).
Wonder if he's met Andrew Bolt, another rabid teaparty nit.
Wonder if he IS Andrw Bolt! Someone has to be psying the bills after all.
All I need to know is we csn no longer build along some low lying shores here,
