How convenient, just as I got my new 3 sim :-)

Now if only they'd add Germany...

Paid-for stuff likely to triumph over free – shock report

Panzerbjorn

Many people would be willing to pay, as long as we can get the latest episodes as quickly as those with cable/satelite tv packages.

For a brilliant illustration, google: oatmeal game of thrones

More than half of Windows 8 users just treat it like Windows 7

Deep breath now...

Calm down and relax. TIFKAM is perfectly usable, it just isn't the interface people are used to.

Just the same way that Linux users have been able to change their UI, so can windows users. And if you don't like TIFKAM, then use another one, but TIFKAM itself is fine.

Skype is awful...

For IM'ing. It might be great for free VOIP, but for instant messaging it's just awful. So, like just about everyone I know, I'm now using Facebook even more.

While the Facebook desktop app isn't perfect, it's a darn sight better than Skype for IM...

I shall have to get my new popcorn machine up and running ^_^

Interesting

This looks very interesting, but I would definitely want to handle it before sinking any cash into this...

Watered down?

Or enhanced?

Given how utterly rubbish the prequels were, they really can't do any worse, and if they get some decent writers/directors/actors on the case, it could be good...

Judge drops TV ad-block block: So how will anyone pay for TV now?

Panzerbjorn

Re: *you* only need the internet.

Connect virtually any modern viewer to your TV (PC/PS3/Whatever) and you can watch TV using the internet. And you are still watching it on a device called a television. Not really much difference...

Re: Squeezing the last drops

This is to a large extent true, but for this to work, the content needs to be available legally at least as fast as the downloadable shows.

I could give you examples, but I think The Oatmeal does it best:

Just a shame it's HTC. After two of their phones I'm staying well clear of them...

And at least their licensing deals must be relaxed enough that it's easier to pay than to risk getting products forced off the shelves like Apple vs Samsung...

So, about that HTC...

Having had two HTCs, I'm not going to risk getting another one.

My next phone will be an S3 or Note 2...

Mmmmm, delicious...

Dammit, time to buy up whatever stock I can get my hands on.

American pancakes with eggs, bacon and maple syrup is ridiculously delicious...

And I, for one, will happily support the war effort if it means I don't have to worry about my maple syrup supply...

Re: Of course it is a phone - its the newfangled VOIP

You must live in a country that has decent 3g then.

I live in London where T-Mobile, Orange and O2 are all useless for the kind of consistent data transmission required for VOIP.

Blizzard faces court battle for 'misleading Diablo III fans'

Panzerbjorn
FAIL

What exactly does it say?

So I'm wondering, what exactly does the system requirements say.

It seems to me that most games will say something along the lines of 'Internet connection required to play'...

A bit fail not to report that as well...

Re: Blizzard

Because if you have a battle.net account, then you should also have an authenticator.

If you don't, then the biggest problem isn't the lack of case-sensitivity.

Sony: Walkman, meet Android

Panzerbjorn
Meh

But will it have the necessary backend

If it doesn't have something really clever to make it incredibly easy to get music from Amazon and your own collection, then it's a dead duck indeed.

And it will have to be dirt cheap since most phones have more space than that.

I realise that I'm not everyone and that this is just my opinion, but yes, I would happily pay if they could provide me with what I want.
