As many reading this will know its not the suppliers fault if you fail to secure the system by changing the default password, only if there is an insecure firmware installed and even then Ive yet to see anyone prosecuted.
Simple security if its not in use turn it off at the mains.
All very nice havin 2FA and password mangers till your secondary device or software stops working then what you stuffed.
Rather than making employees comply with company policy regarding accessing equipment a much easier solution,we had a 2FA software fitted to the euipment log in screen.The problem was the engineers who needed to access said equipment sometimes have problems getting the 2FA software runiing to generate a password so couldnt fix any issues until that was working.It got so bad some of the 2FA systems were disabled.
The key doesnt engage the starter or turn of the engine off as per older conventional vehicles it sends a command to the ECU to run a program which then performs these tasks, ergo any corruption of the program and it just fails to do as commanded.
I think we need to enable the three laws of robotics on all future production.....
Thats fine for a large manufacturer with a even larger budget but it would kill smaller manufacturers and as the vehicle ages [ala SAAB ] who then provides the now defunct system upgrade to a propriotory system that may be under someone eleses copyrights?
To put a different analogy how long realisticly should Apple provide software support for the iPad One five years,ten years,fifteen years?
Theres many a webpage and video dedicated to the possible radiation health risks assosiated with the devices fitted in the likes of the US so Im staying well away from them.
Oh and if specuation is true these devices will eventually enable muli tarrif prices i.e. high rates during peak times.

Yes in that something that is not familiar needs more use of section of the brain used for learning which is slower and ergo more time to resolve the problem.Whereas an experienced driver looking at something familiar like the speed displayed be it via dial or on a heads up display uses preconfigured brain cells in a different part of the brain which do not tax the individual as much.
