I like my Mac but this is ridiculous! Oh well, a sucker is born every minute they say.
Re: It will be a shame if the Archer gets charged
"protect the house"
You got that right. I find a stranger in my home and bang! they are toast. No questions asked.
Re: HP Inc - please don't tell them...
I've got an HP LaserJet 400 that has been telling me the toner is low for 3 years and yet it still prints fine.
Re: Skylake or Haswell
The Apple Watch is a Godsend for Type I diabetics.
Using a Dexcom G5 Continuous Blood Glucose monitor I can see my blood sugar reading on my Apple Watch. For a Type I (and Type II for that matter), this information is invaluable.
"... no one changes their passwords on their gizmos, ..."
This statement kind of kills El Reg's credibility.
I do. Thus proving this statement false.
Gee, I wonder if the buyers will be compensated after purchasing a vehicle with non-working features?
"Pocket explosives maker Samsung..." LOL!
Sorry but I would never buy or use one of these types of vehicles.
I'll stick with my BMW and someday, hopefully, a Maserati.
Having to bow down to show respect for their dead dictators?
I don't think so.
What a shithole!
The IRS is just another bloated, money wasting government institution.
As is the Dept. of Education, the EPA and countless other departments.
Change is coming and the people in those departments should start looking for work now.
I've had problems with kernel_task sucking up 900+ percent of the cpu which causes the system to become nearly impossible to use. I've never figured out what causes this. This used to happen on El Capitan also.
The fans do seem to run more than on El Capitan.
It sucks but the alternatives suck worse.
"...and probably sitting on gum/vomit etc"
You've never heard of bus pants?
How does this malware get installed?
Re: Pumps have many challenges, security is certainly one.
Check out the tandem:tslim (no wireless so no chance of hacking).
After 38 years of multiple daily injections, I switched to this pump a few months ago and the convenience far outweighs any disadvantages (of which I know of none). Plus my control has never been better.
Re: Pumps have many challenges, security is certainly one.
I have been a Type I diabetic for 38 years and just switched to an insulin pump a few months ago (tandem:tslim). This one does not have any wireless communications so no chance of any hacking. I love it and will never go back to multiple injections. My control has never been better and it is so convenient.
And yes, you'd have thought they would show a picture of an insulin pump rather than a manual injection. :(
People still Yahoo!? I haven't used Yahoo! since 1999. They are irrelevant.
Big mistake. Thanks Obama you a**hole!
With macOS Sierra, the OS X moniker is no more.
RIP OS X. Long live macOS!
Reverting to an earlier version of iOS is not supported by Apple.
Re: Just a minor fender bender...
Yeah, that will buff right out; no problem.
When Trump is President, Apple will not pay anything near a 35 per cent repatriation tax. More like 15 per cent. Good timing Tim!
Windows, still crap after all these years.
ObamaCare web site redux
Back in October of 2015, the ObamaCare web site was down pretty much most of the time because they didn't do an incremental roll-out, similar to your census problem.
Even after getting logged into the OC web site, the usability sucked.
You'd think a web site that cost $2 billion would be damn near perfect. Ha. You'd be wrong.
Android - the real Windows mobile OS.
I thought it was pretty cool to read something straight from Gary's pen.
He was an incredible guy and I am still saddened by his too early passing.
Re: @Bob Dole ... Could Also Be...
The Apple Watch keeps perfect time.
Re: Juno and its pictures...
Actually Juno will remain in a highly elliptical orbit in order to stay clear of Jupiter's immensely powerful radiation fields. It will gather data when it is close to Jupiter then get out of Dodge before any serious damage to the spacecraft can happen.
Now imagine the person to be an airline pilot.
Re: My friends call me a luddite
I'm with you. If I had to do it over again, I'd forsake the iPhone (or any other smartphone) and kept my Motoroloa RAZR. That was a cool flip phone and worked great!
Re: @YetAnotherLocksmith ... It makes sense, but...
He started shooting at the police so no, they couldn't take the chance to wait him out.
Very misleading title! You bastards!
Sounds like a real 'cluster f*ck'.
Re: What an absolute
For geeks, perhaps.
For normal people, a Mac is the way to avoid all this Windows bull.
MS can't handle sleeping. It's the 21st Century!
If it were me, I'd be contacting an attorney.
Hypoglycemia can affect people such that they aren't thinking rationally and thus his son might not have realized what was going on.
Apple offers all of their OS updates for free. They would never nag or coerce you into upgrading. If you hide a software update, it stays hidden.
MS sucks once again.
Re: A: he is not a real musician
I wonder if flagging all your music files as read-only would prevent any deletions from occurring.
You have to admit. This is uber geeky.
Not a good move Apple!
Big Apple fan here. I am not happy with this decision. Seems to me the loss in Goodwill will be far greater than the expenditure of whatever resources would be needed to plug these holes.
I must not be typical.
My Macs typically last about 10 years before I get a new one.
I'll be using my Apple Watch as long as it tells time.
I still use my original iPad along with numerous later models.
I do update my iPhone ever 2 or 3 years.
How to not get pwned on Windows: Don't run any virtual machines, open any web pages, Office docs, hyperlinks ...
Still the same after all these years...
Windows, still held together with tape and bailing wire.
Didn't they also launch 11 satellites?
No mention of this?
Somebody remembered the passcode that the FBI changed.
Nothing to see here.
My mother was from Germany. Buying a BMW helps me cope with losing her years ago.
What's wrong with that?
Smoked a pack a day from 70-78. Finally quit cold turkey on May 17, 1978.
No patches, gum or help other than really wanting to quit.
Quitting has paid for my BMW over the years.
I haven't used Yahoo! since the dial-up AOL days; at least a decade.
Obama is a narcissistic idiot who wants to (and is) turning the USA into a third world nation.
Everything he says is complete and utter bullsh*t.
A solution looking for a problem.
MS Bob does not like.
