As per the the first line in this article:

Creative were the first.
Unlike the many iPod's in landfill, my Zen Touch 20GB is still in daily use. Therein lies the problem.
More money, more debt, more shiny things.
Less money, less debt, less shiny things.
98% of the population are lining the nests of the other 2% and these patents and copyrights only serve to reinforce that.
WARNING: off-topic
it's true, most ppl who buy BM's are utter wankers.
Most BM's these days are shite anyway. There are a couple of good ones, but the rest are just status symbols.
The 1 series for example is a Rover and is not that dissimilar to a Hyundai i30 and is BMW's best-selling vehicle.
Shame really, I remember the day when I wanted a BMW, same with Audi, I did have an 80 Quattro for a while.
These days, I find Ford's have more allure, not least for the choice of colours!
any comment by an Anonymous Coward (the clue's in the name)
Allbeit my moniker is not my real name, you can at least cross-reference any comment I make with ones you may have read in the past to determine if I'm trolling or a fascist right-wing nutjob.
Presumably most AC's above are in their late 50's/60's and therefore have had a charmed fucking life.
No wars to deal with, plenty of savings and several pairs of rose-tinted specs and a nice pension to wrap it all up.
What we have here, my baby boomer chums, is a revolt.
You and your ilk have created a society in which it's seemingly perfectly acceptable to do as John G Imrie points out and you're the ones getting away with just those crimes.
Oh, but it's all to easy to pontificate when discussing the civil disorder brought about in part by your ignorance and apathy towards a generation you don't understand and have no consideration for.
I don't for one minute defend rioting and looting, but to try and simplify this by brushing it under the carpet as a group of theiving ne'er-do-wells makes me sick.
Get off you high horse you pompous old farts and do something good for a change. Who knows, maybe you could help these malcontents rather than directing your bilious invective at them.
Isn't the whole point of LulzSec to expose how little consideration is being given to keep our private information secure?
Either that, or one helluva conspiracy to share our private data with organisations who would otherwise have to go through due process.
Mission accomplished.
Either way, don't expect any privacy.
I hope the relevant organisations are sued for failing to protect these sensitive data.
To those who vehemently disagree with what LulzSec are doing, do you also agree that the security of your data should be treated with such contempt?
Threats of violence can't be tolerated in any way.
I have to wonder what DB has done to these Bellarussians to incur their wrath though.
Let's suppose he has royally screwed them over, how would they get their own back?
We only have the very public Twitter-base side of the story to go on.
Indeed, my father was debating the cost of getting one of those new fandangled flat television sets, when I pointed out he spends the £600 the TV would cost YEARLY on watching Murdoch's drivel.
I mean, they don't even know who Louise Boat is :D
Fancy paying £600pa and then watching adverts as well. He may be a cunt, but he's certainly a businessman. (Obviously the 2 aren't mutually exclusive) Maybe I'll spend the £600pa on shares.
you're right that healthcare costs far more than space shuttles and the two are not mutually exclusive.
However, it is still time to move on.
If the human race could avoid ridiculous conflicts, we could probably be colonizing Mars by now. (and have a fantastic healthcare/education system)
It's all doom and gloom with you lot today, eh?
There's plenty of growth in the manned space exploration sector, perhaps you're very old and won't see the fruits of those labours?!
The shuttle was an excellent accomplishment, but the orbiter vehicle was also compromised from the start and VERY expensive. The USA could really do with good healthcare. Don't get me wrong, I love the idea of the space shuttle and there are great memories for all because of the programme, but it's time to move on. Perhaps an international effort like the ISS?
A fond farewell indeed, but there's really no need for such pessimism.
not sure where you're going with this really Andrew.
Rupert Murdoch doesn't stand accused of being an arch-villan as far as I can see.
He does stand accused of controlling organizations around the world that clearly indulge in some very dubious tactics to obtain scoops/influence politics and that he should really be responsible for such actions.
His crime really, is to turn a blind eye to actions that it is very likely he knew about and to allow the manipulation of politicians/policemen for his organizations' own gains.
If anyone was a Keyser Soze, it was probably Rebekah Brooks.
The whole pr0n thing is about getting the female (I know many females like pr0n, but I think they consider their kids' access to it) market.
Do you think for one moment that any of these guys want to prevent pr0n on their platforms?
Patents suck, they're for unimaginative lazy people who wish to sit on their haunches.
Just be the best at what you do.
all the cash 4 gold stalls are for, to buy up all the naff gold from chavs and then sell it back to chavs as naff 'bricks'
I was wondering what would happen if everyone sold their gold. If they did, maybe I COULD then ask the bank to 'pay the bearer'
When the revolution comes, I suppose you could fashion a club out of gold to protect your crops.
