I would have hoped people would realise a £14 server isn't targetting enterprises even if they could use it. It's clearly meant for small, maybe medium, business.
It costs less than a video game. What do you guys expect?

It was something to appeal to the young and distract the internet from the republicans but it's good that he did it and if you thought that he (or anyone else) would touch on subjects that could cause him problems then you're not being realistic.
The republicans obviously combed over everything he posted looking for anything to use against him even if they knew there wouldn't be anything there. I don't think we can risk having him screw up and Mitt Rmoney getting elected.
He's certainly not been a great president by anyone's standards but he's not Mitt Romney.
Aside from the moronic idea that it's the same because it has rounded corners, why should apple fear sony?
Sony is in worse financial shape than samsung and isn't exactly in the best shape for taking on apple (or probably anyone else) so I doubt apple would be concerned.
Yes you are expected to but that doesn't mean it happens. The cost to take someone to court over their notice period in the vast majority of cases, isn't worth it. Even if they drag you back for a month obviously you'll be annoyed (justified or not) and that's an additional risk.
I think that's also why I've seen people have a relatively easy time talking their 3 month notice down to 1.
It's better to have a happy person on board for a month than a grump for 3.
Samsung are releasing a windows phone soon. Looks like realised android is a lost cause. But who would be surprised that an advertising company's OS isn't that good or original. The fact it values invading privacy over protecting developers from piracy say it all really.
The first time I watched super mario bros or street fighter, I was quite frankly depressed at how poor they were. Mortal Kombat wasn't much better.
But after watching them again they're not that bad for thoughtless entertainment and I'm glad I got them on DVD.
The more serious attempts that I've see are worse. Resident evil goes down hill very quickly and it just doesn't have enough excitement or horror. I saw tomb raider the other day on iplayer and it's shit. I'll certainly watch SMB again before I watch that. I don't think angelina was a good lara and daniel craig's shit accent and poor acting is a good reason for anyone to have been hessitant about him becoming Bond.
Even postal easily had more entertainment value than tomb raider.
Personally I wouldn't publicly admit to being such a sad cunt that I feel the need to waste the time of some low paid shop staff just to make myself feel better.
Just because you're forever alone doesn't mean you take out your anger on people just for working in a store that caters to people with different tastes.
This why we need to punish companies (not the developers) that released shit code.
Considering how often data gets breached and how often a company is punished why would you pay decent wages for decent developers, test the code properly and take the time to do it right.
There's very little reason for so many systems to still be susceptible to SQL injection attacks.
Or stuff like Tesco sending plain text passwords. This stuff shouldn't be happening but there is no real reprecussions for producing a poor product.
I can't help but feel the article is written in such a way to troll the commentards given it's obvious many of them are irrational fandroids.
But the article is correct. The problem though is that when the patent system was devised the lifecycle of items were not nearly as short, you didn't have multi-billion dollar corportations and far too many lawyers.
One thing I'd like to see is that patents can not be tranferable. That will kill off patent trolls which is a larger threat to the small guy than apple (or samsung).
There should be an easiesr system for the public to repsond to patent applications through the website with prior art. But it should require enough information from them that if they're just being a dickhead fanboy they can then be punished for wasting time.
But if android has over taken iphone in units then apple isn't a dominant player and in fact that shows good reason why they need to protect themselves. They spent money to develop something and countless android companies just swoop in, copy it, sell their item for less and over take apple.
I'll take personal joy in watching people getting too upset about this.
Perhaps these people should get nokias for true innovation outside of apple rather stinking with cheap iPhone knock-offs that required hacks and custom Roms just to make them useful.
Google TV is a dumb idea (like most competing solutions). If I want the internet on my tv, I'll hook a pc up to it and play anything I want and have a boat load of storage for all my ripped dvds and cds.
I acknoledge most people won't be inclinded to do the same but I suspect that doesn't meant they want some under powered box that is meant to not do much more than try to force you into paying googlre and film streaming companies.
It's not that new at all. The logo is the same as the outlook 2007 categorise icon except a flatter and possibly a couple of the colours switch around.
There's not that much you can do with those colors when creating a relatively simple logo I guess. Unless they want to copy google poke-ball / simon says logo.
Oh yeah, the good old DRM-free indie games that everyone claims to pay for.
http://2dboy.com/2008/11/13/90/
World of Goo for the PC, just looking at straight sales vs IPs comes out to 90% piracy, with a more logical look it's more like 82%.
Reflexive reports 92% piracy
http://www.gamasutra.com/php-bin/news_index.php?story=17350
88% of Demigod users are pirates at peak hours

These aren't megacorporations that hipsters feel the need to rebel against.
People need to realise there is more truth to what Ubisoft is saying and if it continues then PC gaming is going to get to the point where people will pine for the days that they get wank console ports.
Maybe you are honest but most people aren't It's not like this is some new thing because of their evil DRM. Tribes had more pirates and legit gamers. What's the excuse there? It's a good game, no drm and everyone apparently liked the developer and yet most people opted to steal it.
The truth hurts but everyone's perpetuated this idea that if you weren't gonna pay for it anyway then it's perfectly fine to download it. Now everyone believes they wouldn't have paid for it anyway.
DRM. Isn't cheap. It's an expensive addition to a game so they're not doing it to be dicks. It's because it works well enough to warrant the cost.
Freetards are ruining PC gaming.
That almost certainly includes steam sales because obviously publishers get those numbers for their games.
Valve has always said they don't release them but publishers are welcome too. Part of me wonders if that's because the numbers aren't that big.
You can't get rich off making full production games only to have people buy it at iphone game prices at steam.
It's no surprise valve themselves are moving to free to play given than a singlre tf2 hat costs more than tf2 used to cost in sales. Tf2 is much more expensive now if you participate at nearly any level of item purchasing.
And it's not their only game that's f2p. For a company that should be better off than all the other given their steam profits they seem like they want to get off the old business model too.
You guys may be butt hurt about it but there is certainly a lot more truth to what ubisoft says. I guess it does make a difference if you pirate even if you weren't gonna buy it anyway.
F2p games are shit. If this trend continues my pc costs will come down as there will be no need to upgrade nearly as often. I'll just stick with consoles.
Of course google pay people but admitting that will make their fanboys all butt hurt.
The company specialises in taking people's data even when they have no right to it and they can query that in mere milliseconds. But they want me to belive they can't figure out who their shills are?
The judge should bitch slap them if they comeback empty handed.
Anonymous are a bunch of moronic children and ddosing is retarded but come on. It's no more lame than spending everyday in your dead-end job, posting on the reg about how much apple sucks and how android phone can do everything (except get you a date obviously).
What have you achieved by hating on anon? Are they going to quit? They won't even see your comments and if they do, they'll quite rightly assume it's some overweight forever alone helpdesk slave who is angry at the world.
Those kids might be misguided and their attacks are mostly shit but at least they're trying to make a difference rather shit their bitch panties about rounded corners every day.
I like how the haters here who spend a considerable amount of time just on this site talking about apple are calling fanboys sad for cheering a company.
Yes, that may be true but it's infinitely less sad than spending each day hating on a company on the internet.
Fact is, apple make good hardware and software. People are getting fed up with windows. So until someone can come up with a good bit of hardware with quality software on top of it, apple will continue to do well.
How much shit are taking? I can take a ds, phone and laptop all in a laptop bag. The phone and ds charge through the pc and the laptop has a nice small cord. It has a 256gb ssd. Who *really* needs more storage than that?
Sounds like some people just can't disconnect at all and must have all their toys with them all the time.
Seems to me if sweden can't guarantee he won't be shipped off to the US then he shouldn't go there. The US happily kills its own citizens for no reason other than they *might* be a terrorist and it locks up people forever for no good reason and has no qualms with torturing people.
In regards to human rights the US is about as bad as Hitler. So the UK should let him go and quit wasting our money.
In a way I don't blame him. Android is gonna continue to get a repuation for being budget crap, they can't sell iOS so what else is there these days other than to ride this out and maybe quitely work on their own solution in the background.
Sure people can say Android has a lot of hand sets out there but that's because a lot of android phones are lon-end. Some are probably even Happy Meal prizes.
That article was pretty useless and doesn't have anything of value to really say. One of it's key points was over something that was a flaw with humans rather than software and largely due to the guy being a public figure with something of value that was relatively easy to take a hold of from a remote location.
And yes OSX is vulnerable to stupid users just like all operating systems. The 100% full proof system is one that gives you zero freedom.
Most of MSl software is aimed at businesses and isn't the sort of thing most consumers want so they can't count on that to make their money back. So unless it's completely closed off to 3rd party development or they do something like xbox and basically force you to have a subscription, they can't make their money if they're sold at a loss.
To me, if it's true this is the price and it is sold at a significant loss, that sounds an awful like dumping and an abuse of their OS monopoly to gain control of another market. So if that is the case someone better come down on their asses.
