Yet it manages this on hardware less powerful than the equivalent Androids? And the animations (which aren't lengthy), run smoothly - unlike the equivalent Androids.
I'm yet to hear one single person with an actual clue about the subject criticise the UX performance of WP, in fact, completely the opposite, with many of them saying it's a notable plus of the OS that it can perform so well on such "poor" hardware compared to it's competition.

And that's before you include the World Service television channels which will shortly be paid from the licence fee rather than a grant from the FCO.
I'm still not sure which one of those mostly shows repeats from BBC One though...
4K is a waste of time and money. 8K is already being trialled and by the time the 4K market has established itself, 8K will be becoming available. The broadcasters have been working on 8K for years, the only interest in 4K has been from the likes of Sony who're trying to sell TVs and offering to do work on the cheap in order to get some content.
8K, running at 50fps, with a full 12+ surround sound will be a significant upgrade on our current HD systems. 4K is just another marketing gimmick to sell more stuff.

How many people against the inclusion of DRM in HTML5 are happy to keep installing / patching Flash / Silverlight / AIR?
I don't know what world the EFF live in, but by blocking DRM from HTML5 they are not going to force even one company to give up their precious DRM. This isn't about the EFF fighting for freedom, this is about them restricting the availability of content in some sort of bizarre war against copyright.
No DRM in HTML5? - the current plug in's will keep being used - not a sudden change in the use of DRM.
The PMSE crowd already have a licensing regime in place and have done for decades. It's not like the US where they just use the spectrum without oversight, Ofcom has been making loadsamoney out of them for years by doing short term (12h+) licences for spectrum they have identified as being available.
If you're in the middle of a live broadcast, you don't want someone marking your current allocation on your presenter mic as now being unavailable causing it to retune, so the database will be of no interest to the incumbents.
Exactly - I wonder if people would be reacting the same if Google had decreed that all YouTube apps had to be written in Brainf**k to be compliant with their ToS.
API providers should not be allowed to decide what language the client apps are written in.
A browser based HTML5 app does not give the same UX as a native app on any platform - especially WP as the browser does not have access to any of the standard UI features / animations.

Simple answer: Have a time out for loss of signal before limiting the speed.
More complicated answer: You've got a GPS - the vehicle will know it's going into a road tunnel, so the limiter could be disabled for that stretch.
Anyway, it's an off the cuff idea, based on my experience that for every way round a stupid rule the workers find, the bosses will find a grossly over-exaggerated method to counter the work around in preference to solving the issue the workers are facing.

Or the summer only BBC Red Button HD service not being available on Sky at the moment which is rumoured to be because of the ongoing argument about carriage fees from the BBC to Sky. That issue even managed to make it disappear from Freesat for about a week because of issues with running EPG data through Sky's systems.
Last time I heard people complaining about a preschoolish UI, they were referring to that abomination XP. It's a good job that MS reverted that UI look as it totally wrecked that version of Windows and there's no way that anyone in business would ever contemplate putting such a childish design on their PCs.

How exactly are these musicians she recruits going to benefit? Has she offered to introduce them all and who they are to her audiences? Has she offered to link to their profiles from her website? Has she offered to do a write up on her site about them? As far as I can tell, no.
So how exactly are these people getting exposure to the supportive and music loving fan base, if none of them have a clue who they are?

It's the little revelations in there, like how it's fine for her to do this because 'Beiber's fans would jump at the chance of supporting him', or 'David Byrne' once spent a few hours doing vocals with me', which shows how out of touch she is with peoples concerns. Like David Byrne is going to struggle to pay the rent by doing something for free for a few hours, and he'll probably get some good exposure to a different market by doing this, it's not like she's planning to introduce the all the supporting artists on stage.
But it's the 'for the big important shows, we've decided we have to pay people to do this, so we've contacted some professionals' that blows her entire standpoint out of the water. She needs these musicians, without them her show isn't going to work, and she acknowledges that she's going to have to pay for this on the big shows, but she just doesn't get how this is exactly the devalument that was discussed by Amy in the post which kicked this all off.

You mean we won't automatically be able to shout "Oh my god! You / they killed Rory! You b*****d!" in response to their inevitable deaths because the resurection isn't guaranteed?
... patent protection should last for variable times, for example twice the development time from when you first document the idea to when you have it working. The item is unprotected until you have it working.
That way companies which spend 10 years and billions on making something come to life get 20 years of legal protection, where as the companies (no names mentioned) who decide to do something obvious in their latest phone UI, taking no longer than a week, only get a couple of weeks protection.
