Re: common place
Another Ditto? I found that if I read the Which forums, they were slating "Best Buy" products and recommending others. I got a very nice vacuum cleaner that way. But that taught me to take Which advice with a very large fist full of salt. I didn't even bother looking at the IT reviews to be honest.
Slow loading El Reg pages
Your pages are beginning to take too long to load. Looking at the status bar it's the advertising sites that are causing it. I don't particularly mind adverts if they don't get in the way of what I am doing. I may even click on an advert or two. But now I am going to block them..
I know it has been said before but..
The list is just plain wrong or at best extremely limited. So many of these lists seem to be created by people who didn't actually understand the thing they were categorising. How many actual games players of either the older generation (Space Invaders, Defenders, Galaxian) or the current generation were on the panel?

Fooled by Randomness: The Hidden Role of Chance in Life and in the Markets
"In Fooled by Randomness, Nassim Nicholas Taleb, a professional trader and mathematics professor, examines what randomness means in business and in life and why human beings are so prone to mistake dumb luck for consummate skill. "
A serious eye opener into how these things happen, why they happen and will always happen.

Not necessarily! I recently "tried" to buy a game that I only had passing interest in because of two reasons. 1. The buzz surrounding it. 2.The 1st day price drop made it worth trying. If I liked it then it was a great buy. If I didn't then it didn't matter as the price point meant that I still got good value out of it.
