Human memory, or the lack of it, is the biggest security bug on the 'net

Player One
WTF?

Try blaming the correct people next time.

So these overpaid asswipes reckon its the fault of the user and not the fault of the other overpaid asswipes who keep losing all the passwords from badly secured websites.

Halifax online may be suspect at the moment

Halifax online login page is bothering NoScript at the moment as well. It's reporting a cross-site scripting attempt, not really the sort of thing that gives me any desire to enter my login details on that page.

Hers the start of a very long url, [NoScript XSS] Sanitized suspicious request. Original URL [https://stags.bluekai.com/site/36828?ret=html&phint. Bluekai comes up as a virus on some pages on google. But then so do loads of innocent things, so anyone know for certain what they are?

I need a recomendation for an email client on linux...

I have a copy of outlook 2003 that has all my emails for the last 15 years locked away in a .pst file. I would love to move to Linux Mint but i cant find any email client that can just import a .pst file.

Anyone have any experience of getting this to work. Its the last thing i need to sort out before waving goodbye to windows.

It's official: EU chiefs WILL probe Apple's Irish tax deal

Player One

Maybe Apple will have to pay!

From the published decision:

"The Commission wishes to remind Ireland that Article 108 (3) of the Treaty

on the Functioning of the European Union has suspensory effect, and would

draw your attention to Article 14 of Council Regulation (EC) No 659/1999 35,

which provides that all unlawful aid may be recovered from the recipient."

Which I assume makes Apple the recipient and therefore liable to repay all the

missing tax?

Surprise! Government mega-infrastructure project cocked up

The Australians did do CBA, sadly though to them CBA=Can't Be Arsed.

Your encrypted files are 'exponentially easier' to crack, warn MIT boffins

Player One

Always wondered if this is true

Would encypting a file and then encrypting the resulting file, with a different key, not make it impossible to crack? Assuming the use of a suitably long key. Ok, so not actually impossible ever but improbable in any meaningful timeframe.

A tip for solving them

I hate captcha puzzles but find if i zoom in with ctrl and + and then out with ctrl and 0, the process is much easier. This is using firefox, i have no idea what the hotkeys are for other browsers.
