Greenpeace, unions attack 'secret UN plans to seize the INTERNETS'

dwieske

when greenpeace speaks, be extremely skeptical as their "facts" are decided on the base of what might garner most donations.....greenpeace has been completely corrupted, the original founders loathe the current incarnation, not in the least because of the fact they wilfully spread misinformation (eg about nuclear technology) and subsequently cause enormous damage (the rise of coal use is a direct result of GP campaingning to close nuclear plants and raise "renewables".....which are pretty much always mainly covered by coal and other fossil fuels)

in short: stop donating to GP, this scummy organisation needs to go the way of the dodo so a more ethically, scientifically oriented organisation can take its place

Hitachi buys Horizon to save UK's nuclear future

dwieske

Re: The upside for Hitachi is...

they are "expecting" 45% reneawble, but are EFFECTIVELY building over 20 new fossil plants, of which at least 5 on coal....post nuclear german power generation will be a lot less environmentally friendly in reality,

You battery remark is pretty much nonsense, there are not enough resources on this plannet to build the amount of batteries needed to support large scale "renewable" crap...

also the current energy policy of germany, belgium, holland etc....is one of the main drivers of the economic crisis due to simulateous rises in price 10-20% per year, and billions in green power subsidies putting a noose around the neck of the economy and population

dwieske

IFR NOW!!!

seriously how long till someone wakes up, smells the coffee, and order a slew of PRISM reactors to be built?

Oz gov to test ‘all renewable’ options

dwieske

renewables currently still are useless, and only used for either political profiling (political parties), draining naieve people of their cash (greenpeace and other scum), or steal money (pretty much every subsidizing scheme). they are HORRIBLE for the environment as they are very costly and EVERYWHERE where they are built you get fossil backup plants......take eg. germany's move to "renawable" from nuclear which will be carried in REALITY by over 20 fossil plants to be built, of which at least 5 coal plants....

implementing renawbles, esp. solar/wind in an industrialised and/or densly populated country is absolute nonsense and counter-productive

Read up on the subject here:

New nuclear fuel source would power human race until 5000AD

dwieske

Re: we know that nuclear power is safe

unfortunately for you a handfull of coal plants kill more people each year than tjernobyl ever did......add to that the fact that another tjernobyl incident is pretty much impossible to happen and....it would seem you are just plainly fearmongering

dwieske

Re: The Usual Silliness

ever heard about hormesis? and don't talk about safety UNLESS you are willing to talk about the death/health toll of all methods of power generation....in which case nuclear power generation comes out as best and safest by an astronomical margin....

dwieske

Re: Cool

unfortunately this fiction can not happen in our reality... get help with your drug/mental issues dude

Solar, wind, landfill to make cheapest power by 2030

dwieske

Re: Gas?

yep if we had storage, it would be an option, unfortunately we don't have storage, no matter how much you try to troll

dwieske

Re: Cheapest?

very good demagoguery....the storage that exists is a tiny, tiny fraction of what is needed for unreliable(renewable some people seem to call it), your claim about supergrids have been proved not technically feasable NOR affordable.... supergrid = current price X20 and shitloads of outages......there have been studies showing the anunaki will visit us on 12/12/2012.....they are about as acurate as the claims you seem to make (which contradict pretty much every study I've read that's NOT from an ideological extremist source).......we're all going tits up energywise due to this continuation of lies on nuclear, and renewable....for nuclear nonsense disproven decades ago STILL is the primary argument (no solution for waste >> solved in 1963, supergrids and storage are feasable > see bravenewclimate.com for proper scientific studies on what it really means)

dwieske

Re: @Why Not? A small question

do you have ANY idea on the scale of the needed storage? clearly not...the capacity has to be 80-100% of the windpower BUT it needs to last for days.....prepare to give up 10% of your countries surfface area JUST for energy storage......stop believing the eco-jihadi please, their are destroying the environment with their irrational hatred for foreigners....oops nuclear power

dwieske

Re: A small question

important detail: denmark has some of the highest energy prices and carbon generation....read the article "danish fairytales" at bravenewclimate.com for the details.....gas powered, non bareload generation is HORRIBLY inefficient vs baseload gas due to the design difference... so many issues, who don't matter untill we stop looking at the energy problem through extremist ideological goggles (if we had a pragmatic look we'd all be building GE prisms, and producing cheap, clean and RELIABLE energy with our current nuclear waste)

dwieske

GE PRISM is the only way to lower pollution/carbon, guarantee energy thats cheap

the storage issue will not be solved by that time, so it will still be the most expensive as it is currently...the only REALISTIC, technically feasable solution that guarantees cheap, clean, dependable energy (which solar/wind still can not) is building GE PRISM nuclear reactors....

I don't really care how much people make on their PV installations as it's a scam, and you steal that money for those less fortunate...it acts like a revers-robinhood tax where renter/people with bad finances have to cope with 15-20% -yearly pricehikes to pay for the redicilous feedback tarifs......the extra cost needed to adapt the grid to support an extremely variable and unreliable energy source like solar/wind is also carried by those least fortunate.....the current renawable energy scam going on in europe is nothing less but a re-establishment of a class based society where the poor get plundered by the not so poor......the fact the greens support this makes them anti-social, the fact that everywhere they get their way (germany, belgium, denmark) the 1ste result is new fossil fuel plants being built makes them dangerous hypocrites.... Greenpeace is one of the biggest enemies of the environment, their actions mainly benefit fossil fuel giants...

Time for Victoria to adapt, says Climate Commission

dwieske
Terminator

politicians profiting here as well?

it has been demonstrated OVER AND OVER (germany, denmark, belgium etc) that adding solar/wind without any storage capacity not only increases the cost enormously, but also INCREASES fossil fuel use as "fast" (= inefficicient) plants need to be built to compensate for the extreme unreliability of renewables.....and again when scaling up you encounter the issue that in some condiction (lots of sun/wind) you can have so much overproduction you can burn out your grid (almost happened here a month ago)

renewables in a 3rd world country: AWESOME, renewables in an industrialised country: absolute nonsense, higher cost ,more pollution, more infrastructure cost, more dead people (due to fossil plant pollution and deaths from placing solar/wind)...

the only real environmentally sound solution is nuclear power, GEN IV IFR reactors to be more specific..

choosing to exit nuclear is choosing so kill more people with pollution (in a less spectacular fashion), rising prices, lowering reliability, CHOOSING to let thousands die that are saved each year with nuclear medecine, and CHOOSING to actually get stuck with nuclear waste for millions of years (which could be used as fuel in an IFR).....

when it comes to energy production there is no bigger enemy of the environment, nor a bigger (unwilling) supporter of the fossil fuel industry then the "green" "anti-nuke-jihadi". Incidently the lies that eg. Greenpeace are allowed to spread year after year on the subject are no less than criminal, and I for one hope someone puts together a class-action lawsuit to attack these idiots and try to limit the damage their propaganda does.....eg mental issues caused by fearmongering in japan has done more harm than the fukushima disaster...

Re: Wonder how much it would cost

and that ignoring the REAL big cost of solar/wind: STORAGE....if you scale solar/wind above 10% with adequate backup (meaning over 80% of production capacity of a period of multiple days) it becomes completely unmanagable....

This extremely important fact does seem to get buried over and over, sacrificed on the altar of ideological blindness, as it proves the nonsense of the "100% renwables" claims from ecofascists

everybody has an oppinoin on this subject, very few have a clue....

dwieske

the fuel cost is negligable...And if you build an IFR type (the best ,most mature GEN IV) you can even use the waste from current plants as fuel...

As this is an extremely mature design with several decades of runtime already (as EBR, EBR-II), none of the above complications can be expected

dwieske

Re: Blinded by the light

Just the nuclear waste from your current plants (and scrapped nuclear warhead) would last you WAY longer than 15 years (well over a century) if you would build some IFR reactors.

low co2 energy = check

lowest mortality rate= check

solution for highly radioactive waste= check

and STILL supposed "greens" oppose this perfect solution

dwieske

Re: Blinded by the light

nuclear can be cheapest ,AND least finite of all fossil fuels (latest estimated put it at over 60000 years energy supply, with just the current reserves, assuming an ifr-type GEN IV)

dwieske

Re: Blinded by the light

nuclear is double plus green....not the other way round (and incidently has the lowest mortality and pollution rate per produced unit of energy of ALL).

for once I would like to hear a single scientifically valid argument to support these crackpot claims about nuclear energy......personnly I think these whiny bitches are filthy hypocrites as they sure as hell don't care about the 300k dead per year due to coal, or the TENS OF THOUSANDS dead due to 'biomass'

dwieske

stop the BS and let GE build some (s-)prism reactors

That way you can be the first european country to have cheap, save electricity, AND take care of your nuclear waste (which is used as fuel in an IFR-type reactor as the prism)... The uk has enough waste for the next century at least (probably more)

The only reason to chose the enrichment approach over IFR types is corruption tbh...

And please ,for once, look very long term: no nuclear tech = no space expansion = humanity eventually falling back on a mideival civilation as resources have run out and pollution is completely out of hand..... There are no alternatives to nuclear reactors in space....

It would be hard to find an organisation more damaging to the ecological cause than Greenpeace

dwieske

Re: As a hippie myself...

they do exhibit the exact same behaviour, and use the same manipulation techniques as most rightwing extremist parties/organisations....

dwieske

I can answer that: ZERO

meanwhile the death toll of placing PV cells on roofs is a 2 in belgium....vs 0 casulties in 40 years of nuclear power plants ....oh and coal plants killing millions each year (ironically some green/eco filth is calling for coal as the "better" choice than nukes)

dwieske

I don't see any issue with that article, I would however like to see some, ANY reason for your fearmongering.....then again I'd be surprised if you could even explain what an atom is...

dwieske

Re: Riddle me this.

safety record? no energy generation makes fewer deaths then nuclear, and that's with 3 apocalyptic (according to GP and other scum) events included....

in the meantime a few years of placing PV-cells in belgium has already claimed more lives than 40 years of nukes (getting 55 to 82% of power from nukes)......which caused: zero deaths

GE can put an S-prism in my backyard TOMOROW, as then I'll be part of the solution (co2 free power using nuclear waste as fuel, leaving nearly no waste), and not part of the problem like greenpeace and most "green" parties

dwieske

Re: Riddle me this.

what makes it more complex:

-global dimming (mainly for particulate pollution from commercial airflight) dampening the heating effect

-solar activity influencing cloud formation

-albedo changes due to humans development

-surface changes....

etc

people still saying we couldn't possibly influience the climate are nothing short of batshit retarded....we've changed the WHOLE surface of our planets and using up ALL its resources in a couple of centuries.....due to our development we currenty have the biggest wave of species extinction going on in 65 million years!!!!! (that comet that wiped the dino's)

our impact on our planet is very real, but that doesn't change the fact GP are scum that abuse the fuck out of our issues to steal cash from people by using very very bad science, or flatout lying...And of course actively preventing solutions to problems they profit from

dwieske

Re: Inevitability

"We can only hope we develop reliable, consistent, clean energy at some point in the future"

We have, it's called nuclear energy, more specifically gen III en IV

dwieske

Greenpeace as a source = useless, they are scum

I'm sorry , but the GP scum has demonstrated, and keeps demonstrated that the info they give out is in no way or manner fact checked, in stead they pick the material which they expect to scare people most, in a bid to extort cash from gullible people....

When it comes to green/eco organisations, Greenpeace is a cancer, and they are dangerous hypocrites as eg. when it comes to nuclear power their main (faulty) argument is:

-there's no solution for the waste

In the meantime they've been misappropriating gifts for DECADES boycotting the implementation of projects for this very goal!!!! (eg. the IFR project in the US, myrrha in belgium etc).

It's like a political party using "crime" as a main campaign point, and sneakingly getting the whole police force fire make sure they're "right".....absolute human filth imho

Re: greenpeace =scum of the earth

stating easily verifiable facts, albeit in a colorfull way doesn't sit wel with some readers here it seem....I guess it's not enjoyable when you find out your gifts to GP are being put to detrimental use....

dwieske

greenpeace =scum of the earth

fact is, the proganda and misinformation greenpeace spreads and the mass-manipulation tactis they use are on a level that would make Mr. Hitler proud...

To me, Greenpeace is nothing short of a criminal organisation, and I hope at some point they will be taken to court for the damage they and their propaganda cause... (eg the fact a lot of nuke plants are open for way to long has EVERYTHING to do with the blocking actions of GP and other pseudo-green scum organisations, as does the massive construction of fossil plants in germany)

Oh, and the only thing to displace fossil fuels will be Nuclear, more specifically the IFR reactor, with which we can produce carbon free power for CENTURIES just using the nuclear waste from or current plants.....I'm still waiting for the 1st anti-nuke person to give my a single solid argument....and also explain to me how they will solve the nuclear waste issue, and provide nuclear medicine without any nuclear technology

Blighty's 'leccy power plant reform deals gas a winning hand

dwieske

seriously: go nuclear....finally let GE start building the prism reactor, and then build 20 more....

Stop snubbing top scientists' advice, Lords tell MPs

dwieske

very problematic

the issue here is that making policies based on scientific data (and thus the latter evaluation, adaptation included in the scientific method) would severely impede the ability for corruption....right now laws can be bought (as proven by the laws written by the likes of monsanto and the recording industry), even though it is overly clear the laws have the opposite effect of what they claim to be doing (case and point: drug policy mainly benefits: police (budget) and criminals (high profit margins), but hurts the people it's supposed to protect (the people)....

TWO things need to be done:

-a politician, caught with corruption needs to be banned from ANY public office or even seat on the board of a company FOR LIFE

-any law made needs to be evaluated a while after being put in "production" and either be removed, or adapted if it does not do what it's supposed to

Mars, Europe losers in Obama's 2013 NASA budget

dwieske

correct: it's a fact, that is barely never mentioned: no extensive spaceflight/space mining by the time resources run out (which seems to be happening over the next 20-100 years) = going back to a mideival society....

that way things are going we will be living like cavemen again in 200 years or so...if we're still around by then

Greenpeace releases 'Cool IT' rankings

dwieske

anti-greenpeace DOES NOT mean anti-GREEN, it means ANTI-scam, ANTI-misinformation and ANTI-damaging the green cause...

dwieske

indeed "hippies" is a bad work "pathological lyers" would be correct, or "scam artist" as they try to scare you into donating through obscene lies (notice eg. their anti-nuke arguments have absolutely no basis in science)

Tbh scammers like Greenpeace do more harm to the ecological cause than they contribute....

no wonder so many people (founders , former directors) want nothing to do anymore with this entity that exploits environmental concerns for financial gain thru misinformation campaigns like this one

UK's solar 'leccy cash slash ruled unlawful

dwieske

also these subsisides are nothing more than a reverse robin hood tax.....make poor people pay more to give cash to wealthy homeowners and companies...

dwieske

as long as the energy storage is not there it's absolute MADNESS to install over 5% wind/solar.....denmark illustrates that issue perfectly the whole focus is on production, not solving the enourmous problem that the larger you scale, the bigger the issue of intermittency and seasonal variation becomes!

dwieske

those will be interesting in the future BUT the thorium tech not as mature as other GENIV designs, and also do not offer a solution for the current nuclear waste....but the IFR does!!!

To illustrate: just using the currently stored nuclear waste from our belgian plants as fuel, we could power the whole country for several centuries with "carbon-free", CHEAP electricity while getting rid of the longterm highly radioactive waste!!!!

dwieske

erm ever heard of Gen IV design that are ready to be built NOW and have a fuel supply of several millenia? (like the GE S-PRISM, an IFR design).

Another piece of the puzzle: Greenies are anti-nuke, being anti-nuke implies you willfully choose never to get a solution for the highly radioactive waste from old plants, and you WILLFULLY choose to get rid of (lifesaving) nuclear medicine... no wonder I think most Greenies are filthy scum that hurt the environment more than help it through their idiological blindness).

A more pragmatic approach is needed on this subject

dwieske

as the danish told obama: the whole wind and solar industry is a SUBSIDIE industry...they can not survive economically without receiving loads of tax money in the form of subsidies, same for their "customers"......using this tech large scale right now is causing it to be nothing more than a 'reverse robin hood tax" when people who rent/can't afford panels pay a lot of (tax)money and extra charges so the industrie and the users can turn a profit...

Stop dicking around in the UK and fasttrack the building of that (S)-Prism reactor!!!!

multi stage with multiple engines in stage 1 is als an option...I always planned making a micro with a B8-0 1st stage (3 clustered engines) and a d12-3 second stage. The burst from the 1st stage will bring the rocket up to speed, the long burn duration of the D-engine will gain you massive altitude....

btw your altitude seems poor, we've done 150-200m with single stage D rockets and 300+ with triple stage C's

swg was too complex for kids indeed, but for intelligent adults it was the best mmo ever bar none.....I've never seen any mmo with the social aspect that well developped, nor the freedom in what to play and how to play it....While in wow, swtor and other mental midget mmo's you're stuck with 1 of very few options, in a sandbox like swg you were completely free.....not "choose a class and be stuck with ot forever" but "spend 250 skillpoints to master up to 2 elite professions, and drop/pick up skills at ANY time......my swg char played melee tank/dps, AND glass cannon (bh with uber llc), AND commando (solo pve king), and smuggler (pistolero) etc....

really the only people that did not like the plethora of abilities and possibilities inswg were either sociopaths or mental midgets...

dwieske

Played this weekend, and yes, it's a WoW in starwats theme with some extra whistles and bells....and it will never hold a candle to pru-cu SWG (which to date is the greatest MMO concept EVER)...people that did'nt like pre-cu swg tenden to be on the dumb side, as the game system was not made at the difficulty level of a toddler, as with wow and swtor.

Still hoping for "swg 2.0" a sandbox mmo in starwars setting, in stead of the xth themepark mmo with EXACTLY the same gameflow, start in starter area, move to capital, clear capital region move on etc.. BORING!!!!!!!

Ah how I miss the social aspects of a game like swg
