The iPhone 4 currently runs on a 1420mAh battery -- that's almost a 0.008% increase in capacity!

Not on my street!
Every day on the train, the carriage is full of Kindles. Far from being a dying technology, eInk is very much in demand thanks to Amazon. Their screens are far better than any OLED offering for reading books, and that's not likely to change any time soon.
If you've ever read books, there's no way you'd opt for a backlit screen on an e-Reader over an eInk one. It's just a silly choice. They are two completely different technologies designed to address vastly different problems.

Why touchscreen?
When I'm reading a book, there's only two actions I need (apart from power on/off): next page and previous page. For the <1% time I'm not using my Kindle to read a book (usually meaning I'm selecting a new book to read, or re-syncing to Amazon), the buttons work perfectly well, ta very much.
So, what's the point in having a touchscreen? Even if it was better for non-reading use, that takes up such a microcosm of my time compared to actual reading, it's just not worthwhile. And until the screens go colour, it's not going to be worth using for web browsing or anything similar.
An eReader is an eReader, folks. Let's not turn books into media centres, please?

Apple eyes phallic iPhone, iPod charger
That's the silliest thing I've seen today.
I can only guess that Apple patented it to prevent anyone else bringing such a stupid product to market and calling it the iPhallus for iPod or something. It's not something I'd like associated with one of my products, that's for sure.

Apple vanishes MySQL from Mac OS X Lion Server
Who really cares?
If you need MySQL running, go grab the source code and compile it yourself, or download one of the binaries from MySQL's own website, even. It's not the end of the world. And Postgre is almost certainly a better DB, with a more usable licensing system, so it's not exactly a silly decision on Apple's behalf.
The only silly thing is perhaps that, if they're marketing their servers as a prosumer/small business thing, making it harder to install an AMP (Apache/MySQL/PHP) server - the staple of a zillion small-to-medium-to-humongous web projects - is perhaps not the greatest idea.
Adding an extra step won't hurt much, but they can no longer say OS X Server "just works" for building a web server.
Nintendo set to make a loss on every 3DS
Unambitious maths
Given the cost of import duties, sanctions, VAT, the cost of distribution itself, plus in-the-box accessories, manuals, packaging and warranty coverage, it's not really a huge stretch to suggest Ninty are pushing the 3DS to be a loss-leader. The money in the games industry has long been with the games themselves, which cost a lot less to produce and have far bigger margins.
