NO! Radio broadcasters snub 'end of FM' DAB radio changeover

Re: Not a fan

Did you read the car's handbook NW Cynic? My new car came with DAB so I thought I would try it. My first impressions were that it had excellent coverage, wherever I went I had good reception. Then I read the handbook and found that the radio defaults to FM if the DAB signal drops out. Listening carefully I realised that the majority of my listening was actually on FM which made the DAB facility rather useless so now I leave it on FM. I also have DAB on my home hi-fi but much prefer the quality of FM. Perhaps I should add that most of my listening is to Radio 3 with occasional visits to Classic FM when R3 goes into one of its peculiar modes.

Not a good idea!

Wills are put into the public domain after probate. Not the best idea to put information such as log-in details where anyone can see it, is it? A better solution is to put the details in a sealed envelope and keep it with the will.

Ofcom refuses to interfere on powerline networking interference

Too big

The problem is that Ofcom is too big with too wide a remit and, in consequence, there are too many areas where there are conflicts of interest. It would be better if there was a separate, independent organisation responsible for technical regulations and their enforcement - rather on the lines of the CAA's Safety and regulation Group (SRG).
