The NAKED truth: Why flashing us your nude pics is a good idea – by Facebook's safety boss

Field Commander A9

How hard can it be to change the sig. of a lossy JPEG?

Without using AI, I don't think there's any reliable way to identify a JPEG file that has been through some of the most basic modifying.

Transparent algorithms? Here's why that's a bad idea, Google tells MPs

Field Commander A9

Can you patent an algorithm?

Hmm, no matter. Baidu and Yandex will find ways to pirate it anyway.

Re: what part of end to end doesn't he understand

Technically possible: just make the client covertly CC everything it sends to the mothership.

El Reg gets schooled on why SSDs will NOT kill off the trusty hard drive

Field Commander A9

Re: I just replaced the HDD in my laptop with...

So like what? An external USB HDD casing never occurred to you?

Any sane tinker in your shoes would have bought an SSD together with a USB HDD casing. Put the SSD in as the boot drive and put your old HDD into the USB casing for extra data space.

Why can't you install Windows 10 Creators Update on your old Atom netbook? Because Intel stopped loving you

Good luck getting reliable support runing Linux on those obsolete silicons

And, no, a bunch of "volunteers" living on the other side of earth is not considered a "reliable support".
