Customer: BT admitted it had 'mis-sold' me fibre broadband

danielpugh

exactly the same just happened for one of our customers - but worse

promised 30Mbps (still shows this now on the wholesale adsl checker) so they ordered

two brand new phonelines

40 Mbps fttc @ £30 per month

20Mb symetrical GEA @ £225 per month

fttc peaks at 5

gea is now stalled at install for 5 months - "escalated with a director"

openreach cant explain and send the obligatory "we may have to charge you" even though it has been this speed on the fttc for 5 months, multiple reboots and router change...

brilliant!

expandability

in terms of expansion its worth noting that there are two slots and only one filled by default so its easy (and supported by samsung if you search the faqs) to install a second ram stick. this really helps.

i found the trackpad a bit annoying though!

cod black ops

everyone i know got very bored by the end of RDR. cant understand why it got so much praise. halo reach also seemed to be missing something i couldnt put my finger on, perhaps it was the noise of my xbox putting me off - very pretty though. there has definately been a shortage of good games this year - cod black ops gets my vote

enta.net

for me be only focus on the low hanging fruit - only available in the middle of the city.

yes its always good when you live 200m from the exchange.

yes zen is good, but not that good and very expensive..

ive been using enta.net for 3 years in cornwall where 2mb is a good speed, and next gen is a press release for delivery in 2015.

affordable, incredibly reliable (given the underlying network), good 24hr customer support, very happy - cant wait for my next gen upgrade to 100mb (10mb real world)

generic vote for android/htc

thinking back to my htc hero at the beginning of the year through the desire to the desire hd id have to say android/htc has biggest impact to me over the last year, and its what im looking forward for (better battery life/underclocking, improved onscreen keyboard).

affordable (non-phone), web browsing for the first time without booting up a laptop.

no its not perfect, but its getting better very quickly indeed and ive got all the benefits on my old phone by upgrading the firmware
