Mythical broadband speeds to plummet in crackdown on ISP ads

Tigra 07

Re: I wonder if they will be using the data from all the Sam Knows white boxes?

Sky adverts will no longer have a speed on the adverts due to the amount of throttling. Some days i was unable to use their broadband at all between 6 and 11pm...And i live in a developed town, not the countryside...

Much happier with Virgin these days. Bumpy start, but better than Sky.

Don't forget the crapware and holding up of updates.

Option 1: Buy the phone outright and get a Sim only deal, with faster updates, less/no craware, and it's cheaper.

Option 2: Go on contract and spend far more overall, get slower OS updates, plus crapware that can't always be uninstalled.

That's the problem with the left. We're borrowing a huge amount of cash atm, but because it's a bit less than they would they've led a crusade against "austerity" for 7 years.

There's a pothole on the main road near Great Bridge ASDA that's at least 3 inches deep and the size of a manhole.

It's next to the bus stop too and it's been getting bigger for years. Eventually the council may just decide to build a bridge over it instead of filling it in...

They routinely leave potholes so long (5+ years generally) that when they do fix them they have to resurface the entire road.

Create a technicality...

When installing and choosing country/language Microsoft should leave Belgium off the list.

No longer targeting customers in market = no need to bow to the court's demands (by their own admission). Microsoft just needs to release a statement criticising the law and announce they're pulling out of the market.

Belgian customers can simply choose Germany as their country and enjoy uninterrupted access to Skype, while their anti crypto Gov take flak.

Universal basic income is a great idea, which is also why it won't happen

Tigra 07

RE: Richard

I realise that (and toyed with including it in my comment), but my logic was that a person may see the UBI as a good reason to jack in a job they don't enjoy for a similar income at home.

Arguably some people may see it as a good reason to keep doing a shitty job since it would act like a pay rise, but then may disincentivise asking for a pay rise instead.

There's a lot of factors...
