Re: What next?
Nah, the next rehabilitation program will be the stripping and recycling of nuclear weapons....

Anything server from Microsoft is useless in my view.
Me thinks you are a tad arrogant, I have a mix of Windoze and linux at home and I've got a problem
My broadband maxed out, first thought was one of those bloody windoze systems has "got" something. But after disconnecting the various system it turns out the culprit is my Debian video recorder.
So careful who you blame...
Everything is 'agile', because that's the best case for terrible lazy programmers, even if they're using a completely different methodology.
Worst are the lazy BAs who can't get their shit together to actually put functional and non functional requirements together. All they do if wait for something to appear then say "That's not what I wanted". Maybe if they had pulled finger out and actually defined the requirements they would actually get what they wanted first time through without wasting all the time and money.
Technically 'agile' just means you produce working versions frequently and iterate on that.
No, technically agile means having no clue as to what is required and to evolve the requirements as you build. All well and good if you have a dicky little web site but if you are on a very / extremely large project with fixed time frame and fixed budget you are royally screwed trying to use agile as there is no way you can control scope.
Hell under agile no one has any idea what the scope is!
Ditch AM, FM, DAB and DAB+. And analogue TV (we're still doing NOTHING with those frequencies, right?)
Allocate the frequencies to 3G/4G/5G.
Yea, right. During the Black Saturday bush fires in Victoria Australia the 3G/4G/5G was the first communication infrastructure to fail. At least with old style AM you have the geographic coverage from a single transmitter without the requirements for repeaters.
Everyone's mum makes the best food :)
No way, mine was Scottish and everything was either deep fried, boiled to oblivion (20m or more) or burnt. You should have seen her steak eggs and chips. The steak was black and hard, the egg was rubbery and chips, well it is quite difficult to stuff up chips but there were times when they were so crisp.
As least my dutch father could cook.
Really the only practical move is to make it so that the content at the comms endpoints is accessible (on warrant) to the right good guys.
The issue is "who are the good guys" outside of america it is NOT the FBI, CIA various merician state agencies etc...
Even inside merica who really trust the government?
People sometimes "correct" me for looking both ways when crossing a one-way street.
In Melbourne Australia looking both ways is a must as the concept of a one way street is just that, it makes no difference to the average drivers and that even includes the local coppers.
Admittedly there are many inner city roads that could do with better signage. But the local councils don't appear to want to spend the money.
In this case someone with power (Disney) laid off employees and then replaced them with people based on their nation of origin (India).
But is this considered racist? My father in law was indian but white as. Would it be racist if they had laid off the employees and replaced them with people based on their nation of origin (Canada)?
Or is it only racist if they laid off the white employees and replaced then with those of indian race.
I'd still think it was somewhat troubling that a foreign power had interfered with it.
Try the New Zealand election just after NZ went nuclear free in the 1980, strangest NZ election ever, way more like a US election with mud slinging character assassination etc. The US got the government changed from labour to national but even the nationals were not up to reversing the nuclear stance. Next election everything was back to normal.
So what goes around comes around... Ha Ha
If we do away with religion, we do away with so much history, culture, music, literature and drama that we'd pauper ourselves as a society in the process.
@Kiwi, we have done that all ready! As far as you are concerned the ONLY religion that is acceptable is Christianity. What about all the followers of other religions that the Christians have either killed or converted. They have lost their history, culture, music, literature and drama. Or, is it just that their history etc is not valid and that only your god is valid and everything else is wrong.
The obvious solution is to visually identify the robot cars (similar to cop cars) so they can be played with safely . Anything less would be criminal endangerment of pedestrians!
Aah, a new sport, Disguise a normal car as a robot car and go hunting for idiots.
Your defence was "They just jumped out in front of me you honour and I did not have enough time to react!"
The tree of life is self pruning....
-0.9s two wind farms drop out -192MW
The fact that two wind farms that would be geographically separated drop out within 0.1 of a second indicates that a lot more was going on. Whatever caused them to drop out would also be the trigger to cause the interconnect to also drop out.
It appears to me that if you are going to overload a wind farm it will drop out hence both going at the same time followed closely by the interconnect.
Are you contending that if the wind farms had not been built, and new or existing power stations had been in their place the blackout wouldn't have occurred?
It doesn't matter how many new power stations that SA had if the feeders dropped out and disconnected them from the grid. It is not normal practice to place a coal fired power station in the middle of the city, it would be placed closest to the coal fields. Say at the end of a 275 kV feeder...
No it doesn't, how many MW was lost when the three 275 kV distributors dropped out. That would have caused more of a pull from victoria than any wind farm drop down.
The direct contributing factor was the loss of the distributors... not the wind farms.
you think i'm going to show my fucking parents the difference between Xfce or GNOME or KDE and play "find the start bar" for them
Yea, I'm sick to death of trying to explain to my friends and family where everything has disappeared to in windoze8 and windoze 10. The standard comment was why did they change it? I can't find anything anymore. etc.
With the UI change especially to W8 it might have been easier to move my friends to linux as from their point of view both UIs are nothing like they used before.
I have no problems with the concept of modern technology it it just the way some f*ckwits implement it. Seriously what the f*ck where the thinking sending anything in the clear! Absolute bloody tools, this is basically criminally negligent.
