why does it have to be one or the other?

There is institutionalised discrimination against gay people, black people (and white people) and real physical harm is dealt to these groups

Reading these articles, and then reading the NYT.BBC etc articles - well, its like there are two different events being described.

I admire Lewis' writings, but I can't help getting the slight feeling he's got an agenda here.

Still, I chose to believe his reporting over the babble being spewed by the more mainstream press, which we know, for sure, has many agendas.

where does OS X sit in this?

I know the OS itself is (at least mostly) 64bit, and many of the apps that I run show as '64-bit intel', what happens to the system as a whole when a 32-bit app runs?

I held out on an iPhone 4 because of the original version of this story - but then I got an AR Drone for christmas and my ancient 3G just couldn't hack it

University physics was a long time ago for me, and there has been a lot of illicitness between then and now..

but, that aside, if my addled memory functions as it should, the theory about light is that it is both wave and particle.

so this cancels the wave, but what about the particle?

a) coz my 3G - scratched, scuffed and not anywhere near pristine still does the job that I want

b) coz I reckon the white 4 will have tweaks not mentioned - as is the Apple Way

c) coz T-Mobile here in the Netherlands have had an 8 week waiting list for the black one which just puts me off.

Whilst I absolutely love his articles and read them from first to last word, and thoroughly respect his knowledge and opinion, I do feel the bootnote at the end of Lewis' document should be modified like this:

To my mind, the previous AppleTV was too expensive, which meant a Mac Mini was the better bet, but for that money, a PS3 and a lot of change was an even better bet

I'm just an ordinary Apple user - Macbook pro, iMac, mac mini, wireless thingumies and 2 x iPhones in the house

but a religion? no.

They're tools. Like my AEG range cooker, or my Bosch fridge - I just like how they operate.

I like the idea of an iPad, for example, but I can't think of a need I have that it would fill, so I don't have one.

And if they stop operating the way I like, I'll get something else to replace them
