I messaged them myself a few weeks back too, as I received a dodgy sms from 'HMRevenue' asking me to click a link to process my tax refund. The site automatically filled in all the details, but had information specific to that which only Kiddicare had (I'd recently changed my name last year so registered just before November) so certain information which was automatically filled in to try and trick unsuspecting folk to thinking it was genuine was information I had only used on Kiddicare at the time. I did message them on Facebook regarding this, but they said (at the time) that there had been no security breaches & promptly deleted my post on their page.

Alas, I feel better now knowing where my details were most likely obtained from by the scammers!

I'm not angry or upset about this, these things happen! The size and complexity of websites now can mean any portion of it could be liable to some sort of exploit, or some backend deployment gone awry could also cause a brief moment where information could be accessed.

Not so robust...

We got one of these for my grandfather, due to the soaring costs of having a fixed line, he wanted to get something to use with a PAYG sim (he's using about £5 credit every 2 weeks, so some saving now)

However, the lock switch on the side of the phone itself has snapped. Not the plastic flick but you slide, but the actual switch itself is whats broken. So locking the phone now is impossible to do.

The phone is still in warranty aswell, but was refused stating it is classed as a wearable item (such is keyboards)

I'm either going to replace it with something else, or replace the switch itself with something far more robust.

HTC Legend

Hardmilk
Welcome

Maybe there is another plan for the phone...

Like others have said, its a bit of a bad idea releasing it so close to that of the Desire, but then... HTC also just announced the Evo 4G days before the official release of the Desire "SuperPhone" as it's reffered...

I guess operators could market the Legend as a budget 'droid device, possibly even with availability on PAYG? (although I've not really looked at the price of the legend) So maybe it will end up as a low-cost monthly tarrif option... Either way, I'll be after the Desire when thats out, as my farewell from the land of WinMo.
