hahahahahaa!
It's like the bit in every Bond film where the evil megalomaniac divulges their entire fiendish master plan assured of the imminent demise of the main protagonist!
Dr Evil: We shall take over Nokia for one biiiiiiillion dollars!
I'm sure everyone recalls this:

If he looks likes an evil megalomaniac and sounds like an evil megalomaniac then... hey...
Totally agree...
The work I produce is the full focus of my attention... that is where I need to concentrate,,, this is where my deadlines are... this is where I am measured...
I don't want to be distracted by having to figure out tools that up until then I didn't even have to think about and therefore reduced to PC illiteracy...
They need to stop trying to reinvent the wheel!
I suppose the 'joke alert' tag was misguided and the subtle irony fell flat...
I was more thinking about 20 tons (or aspiring to 100's of tons) of flamable petrochemical products being transported in such a manner should be questioned... hence the link...
Sorry for making it look too much like a funny... it would of come across more eliquently verbaly rather than in text...
I am stand here as 'the consumer' (my tech stuff is radio access networks not end user devices...)
Windows 7 with Office 2007 on my top end Vaio pisses me off every time I have to do something that I could do in a fraction of the time in a semi catatonic state on my works XP machine... I don't want to experience this brand anywhere else in my life...
My BB does pretty much what I need... about from looking at stuff on Youtube... and to be fair if i'm trying to look at Youtube on my phone I really need to have a serious think about what I'm doing with my time... everything comes up too small to see pretty much for anything else anyway...
My girlfriend has bought a phone that looks like an iPhone and that's nice...and she's happy... I might get something like that next...
Do I need a Tablet? No... not really... I get by quite happy with the Laptop and BB for FB, Twitter, Mail etc... if i did have one bearing in mind I don't 'need' one would I have anything that had Microsoft staring back at me after the frustrations they've caused me by what is for me the heavy plough that is Windows 7/Office 2007 that they've stuck on my racehorse laptop....
I find them stiffling and don't what them to proliferate further into my life...
Oh... and their TV ads make my toes curl, and leave finger nail marks in the palm of my hand... this was certainly not 'my idea'....
Thanks for reading... you guys put some good stuff on here... thanks!
Well i'm happy to hear of improvements of this nature... no matter how disconnected I may be from seeing any benefit at all...
Not a clue why they started bringing video calling into the article... that's a proper dead donkey... and yes 100 years ago people dreamed of such devices... but they also dreamed of hand held ray-guns... I wish I had a hand held ray-gun... and rocket boots.... video calls? I can honestly say I wouldn't answer one... I'd find the very idea of someone calling me in this way gauche, rude and intrusive... especially if I was up to no good at the time... ha!
(anyhoo...)
With such an announcement ... how long will it be before the 8Mb that BT promises me is consistantly over 1Mb?
How long will it take to filter through to the masses and make a difference? Will the local BT Stowger be able to handle it!?
Am sure any software company can make an OS 'too good' to work on anything...
I think the trick is to get a 'working' OS that can be used on peoples telephones...
Apple, Nokia, and RIM don't seem to have played the 'OS too good' card on their respective percievably superior devices...
My Mum makes cakes that are 'too good' to eat... but we can still eat them... mmmm!
