Dark Matter

Dark Matter always seemed like a modern phlogiston to me. There's no denying that the effect is real, but whether the interpretation of the cause is correct...

It struck me whilst reading about M-theory that whilst most strings that form elementary particles are stuck to their "home brane" (think 'Flatland'), gravity is free to wander between branes. What we refer to as dark matter might be the interference effects of gravity caused by the masses on parallel branes. So a new quantum theory of gravity (which we don't have yet anyway) instead of exotic new "stuff"...

MySpace strikes again

Tinyfish "relaunched" our MySpace page to go with our new album. Myspace is, alas, still counterintuitive to use, still crashes (regardless of which browser you use) and still doesn't let you be as flexible as you need.

The sad munging of any link you create so that it goes through their advert filter, the useless headings, the temperamental music loader/player...

I wouldn't care if it vanished tomorrow.

"improved user interface" means that crappy ribbon thing that stops me using Wordpad in Windows 7. Does anyone have a 64-bit Windows 7 build of the old Wordpad? I seem to remember they used to give it away as an example program if you bought Visual Studio...

They always say this - and then put the keyring loop in the plastic body of the USB stick where it snaps off. If you want to put a USB stick on your keyring, get one where the USB stick swivels out of a metal clip - and the keyring loop is part of the metal clip.
