The washing machine theory

There is hatred towards Apple because, for one, Jobs is not likeable (nor is Billy), they make expensive and flashy product. And for the nerds , you can't play beyond the purpose of the machine much.

Saying that, when you buy a washing machine, you don't try to tweak it's settings to get better performance, or install the "dish washer" application.

You get the same remarks if you drive an expensive car, that doesn't go 200 mph.

Another thing that fuels the hate, is that people owning such products can at times be condescending (some of them do actually sacrifice their pensions on such things you know, so they can look down on people, but not on a mirror of course :) )

Back to Apple though ... 1M ... is a good thing, like it was said above, means the tablet market is well on its way !! it also means that other manufacturers WILL follow suit, and give us consumers more choices (for those who think Apples are evil ... instead of the snake).

I think the cloud office will give gole some energy, and perhaps give us, the users or devlopers more choice.Bing is exactly that, again I am not saying it beats google or not, just that alternatives are a good thing !!.

It's bound to be a bit pants, but you'd be surprised about the amount of "faults" that can be simply resolved by software.

you ought to read what it is for, in the first place :)

purposeful design , rightly or wrongly though, but if you want a laptop, don't get an iPad ? (several people pointed that out above :D)

for what it's worth, if I had 500 to waste, I'd be getting one, just for easy internet access anywhere around the house, no boot time, as in, a big iphone with my favourites on it.

the concave back ... is a very good point, I suppose Apple will sell soon the iTowel to put you iPad and your iPhone while iTyping

There are just many good games as there use to be (I use to game on a spectrum and MSX, and there were some seriously rubbish games then too).

I would be brickin' it going down a steep hill, forward facing like ...

plus in town, if I am on a bike, I enjoy having that bit of protection in front, albeit small.

You have to acknowledge though, that it looks very cool

probably not very relaxing for your arms .

I think it is quite an achievement for the iphone

a phone that can spread a worm has to be commanded, certainly one of the first through an IP network, desapointing that it only uses a default setting though.

with he same money, one could really get a fully configurable, brand spanking new laptop

these devices are just cut down version at higher price ...

I appreciate, the vulgum pecus will want something usable straight away, but netbooks pretty much are nowadays.
