Re: Didn't know they still existed

Not only are they still in business they are the world's largest watchmaker and own the brands Breguet, Blancpain, Omega, Longines, Rado, Tissot and Certina amongst others, plus the ETA company who make movements used by many watch manufacturers, e.g. IWC, as well as being jointly responsible (with Mercedes-Benz) for the creation of the original Smart car.

Google it onna Google phone onna GOOGLE NETWORK. MVNO plan imminent

Carl W

Effectively two numbers?

Why would the SIM need two numbers (MSISDNs)? It's possible to map a single MSISDN to multiple IMSIs. Wouldn't it also be better if Google had their own HLR and signed up to wholesale roaming agreements with the two networks?

Success!

And tasty good it was too. But do you think there might be a way without frying the onions and potatoes in a load of olive oil? If not it will have to remain a rare treat rather than staple post-pub diet.

I’ve seen a race car with a single damper for both front wheels. Not sure of the advantages other than weight.

I bought the DVD version of Battlestar Galactica some years back, and it's well worth a watch. Tails off a bit towards the end, but the story of how they first encounter their own civilization's outposts, and then other civilizations, isn't bad.

Post-pub nosh neckfiller: Masala omelette

Carl W

I tried this

And there was too much garam masala. It wasn't too hot, just too "powdery". Maybe I should have been using level teaspoons instead of heaped. And I didn't have any tomatoes so I used a red (bell) pepper.

Apple: SO sorry for the iOS 8.0.1 UPDATE BUNGLE HORROR

Carl W

I ordered mine on Friday (from EE) and it turned up on Monday. Actually they tried to deliver it on Saturday. Been using it all week. My minimum contract term ended in July so rather than get a 5S I thought I'd hold out for the 6. It's OK but I'm not impressed with the camera sticking out of the back or the back cover in general -- I thought the zenith was reached with the glass-backed 4/4S.

Phones 4u slips into administration after EE cuts ties with Brit mobe retailer

Carl W

A year left to run on the EE contract?

Why don’t they keep the business running for another year, make another £100m and use the time to find another partner or business model? Or have EE terminated the agreement with immediate effect?

Carl W

Is it a 4GB drive?

I followed the instructions to create a bootable Lion USB drive, but slightly more than 4GB is required which necessitates an 8GB drive.

I understood this drive also allows you to upgrade Leopard->Lion without buying Snow Leopard, which may explain the price discrepancy.
