Samoan clerics finger homosexuals over global warming

Nathan 13

Title

If anything homosexuals are going to be much more green as they wont be having the 2.4 children who will go on to consume vast amounts of the earth's resources and pump out CO2 by the truck load.

Vue denies cinema phone ban plan

Nathan 13
Thumb Up

Go one step further..

And ban customers. Then there will be no risk of someone sneaking in a mobile phone or camcorder whatsoever.

Problem solved.

Actually several problems solved at once. No more rip-off prices for the ticket, the food, the drinks and even the car parking at my local cinema.

And then Vue can sit back and congratulate themselves that no one will be uploading their movies, and everyone will now have to download the higher quality screeners and DVD rips.

And it will save me and the missus £57 next time we think about going to the cinema.

Thats a Win Win Win situation as they say.

Brits don't want in-flight calling

A thumbs down from me

Its hard enough to get some sleep traveling against the earths spin as it is. Mobiles ringing and people yapping loudly would make it unbearable.

Skype

I cant see them being able to "monetise" (god I hate that word LOL) their product sufficiently to make ends meet with shareholders etc

Steve Jobs denies Judas Phone antenna problems

Nathan 13
WTF?

It affects all phones does it?

I have NEVER in my life heard of anyone who had reception problems when holding their mobile phone before this I-Phone issue.

So Apple are talking total and utter bollocks IMO.

3 offers best iPhone deal

Nathan 13
Thumb Down

Not 3, god not 3

The problems I had with them took 6 months, countless emails and telephone calls to resolve. I say resolve but I gave up in the end. They blatantly lied to me, never returned calls, never sent me anything in writing back when they promised, I send them recorded delivery letters they never received them etc etc etc I would not recommend 3 to my worst enemy I really wouldnt.

Brits are bored with mobile broadband

Nathan 13
Happy

Shit, Shittier and Shittiest :)

Ive tried 3, O2 and currently use T-Mob. They are all shit at a fixed location, and even shittier if you attempt to connect on the move.

3 are also the shittiest company on the planet.

LibCons bin £2bn of late Labour projects

We need to get the deficit to zero pronto

If that means a lot of cuts then it has to be. Otherwise the UK will suffer a sterling collapse and we will all be MUCH worse off than if we dont sort it out.

Vodafone customers collaborate to chart coverage

Nathan 13
Thumb Up

great

This is a beautiful idea, and will show the coverage is shit all over the place. OK voice are finally of an acceptable level after 20+ years of mobiles but mobile internet is appalling on ALL the networks.

My acid test for a quality "internet on my phone" service is an hours walk out and about streaming a 32kb radio stream without it disconnecting once. The best ive ever had was 6 disconnections so far.

Apple releases moving pictures of Steve Jobs keynote

Nathan 13
Jobs Halo

I would never buy an Apple product ever, but...

Steve Jobs knows how to do a presentation.

If anyone needs lessons is business presentations they could do worse than watch the recent Keynotes. His best one IMO was the very first Ipod keynote.

Getting 1000s upon 1000s of people to pay big money for your products is a rare skill and SJ/Apple cannot be faulted in this area.

ID card scheme barely broke 13,000 mark, minister confirms

Nathan 13

@ Tzael

Its not rocket science to apply for a passport or driving license without photo ID, it really isnt. Even ive managed it once LOL

And if you really truely believe the Labour party only introduced these cards for the reasons in your post you are sadly mistaken.

Three In-Car Wi-Fi

Nathan 13
Unhappy

Wonderful idea

Let down by the woeful coverage that Three (And all the mobile companies) have.

Im beginning to think that mobile internet is never going to get to a satisfactory standard, where you can actually use it without pulling your hair out.

My T-Mobile phone cant even stream a 32kb radio station without cutting out 10+ times on a 30 min walk. And as for Three I found their dongle useless, and the issues I had with their horrific customer service could fill a large book LOL

iPad queues worldwide

Nathan 13
Thumb Down

I am genuinely shocked

Im trying to honestly answer the question: if it was free would I get up at nothing'o'clock and queue for a few hours to get an Ipad.

I would answer NO!!

Regent Street blocked by iPad fanboi swarm

Nathan 13

OMFG

When I plan to treat myself to a nice shiny toy I do look forward to receiving it admittedly, but to get up at dawn and queue for hours is just unbelievably sad.

I could just about understand it if the thing was being given away for free, but queuing up for hours to spend lots of cash HAHAHAHAHA

O2 limits unlimited broadband packages

Nathan 13
Thumb Down

Unlimited

adjective: not limited or restricted; infinite.

What part of that do O2 (and 100s of other shitty companies) not understand. I still cannot grasp how any company can get away with saying their service is unlimited when it isnt.

I use fast.co.uk broadband, and every one of their different broadband packages states exactly what the download limit is, and doesnt traffic shape whatsoever. It is possible to provide broadband in the UK without lies and bullshit.

DAB lobby launches radio scrappage scheme

Nathan 13

Logical replacement

Surely the logical replacement or supplement for FM/AM radio would be internet radio. DAB is already doomed right from the outset in my eyes.

Ten Essential... Android Games

Nathan 13

Trap

Game involves trapping balls moving around the screen by drawing lines to separate the area into smaller areas. The goal is to capture 75% of the screen to clear a level.

Great free game but it gets hard quite quickly though, and I have only got to level 6 so far.

Broadband tax scrapped in 'wash-up'

Nathan 13
Stop

The tit is required, and must contain letters and/or digits.

If the government decides it needs to build a fibre optic network for the country bumpkins then use the money they get in general taxation, (or just add it to the £165 billion they borrow lol), dont start inventing new taxes willy nilly.

Otherwise it just ends up after a while as another tax that gets lost in government bureaucracy.

Wasnt the air passenger tax meant to be ringfenced for "green issues" yeah right

Lords: Analogue radio must die

Nathan 13

Better idea

Spend the money on something people do want... like a decent broadband service in this country for everyone.

DAB is shit and with internet radio pointless really. FM radio still has proper uses, many mobiles have FM tuners, pocket tuners are great for a day out etc etc

And FM radio is more environmentally friendly compared with battery eating DAB. DAB should have a fuel tax on it of 70p in the £1for batteries, like petrol does lol

Behavioural targeting works, claims US study

Nathan 13

It may work, it may increase conversions by 10000 gazzillion % but

Unless you have full explicit consent from each customer to spy on them, its about as ethical as putting cameras in the customers house and monitoring them 24/7.

Humax HD-Fox T2 Freeview HD receiver

Nathan 13
FAIL

No record, no good

As others have said the whole point of a £180 box rather than a £20 one is the ability to record TV to watch when I want to watch it.

And another thing why are all these companies paranoid about HD. Its basically the same picture as before just a bit sharper. Its not made of gold or diamonds, so why do they go at such lengths to "protect" it.

In 5 years it will be HD2.0 or 3D or HOLOTV, but you can only view it with your ID card in the Humax slot with a cam link to the FACT office to make sure anyone watching it has inserted their ID.

Minister: Banks should give ID cards to people with no money

Nathan 13

The government cant give em away right now

But when they have 90% of us signed up it will be £100 to re-issue the card every few years or even to change your address (which will be compulsory).

I hate to think what this shithole of a country will be like in 10 years time, makes sad and angry at the same time thinking about it.

Virgin offers cut-price data roaming in Europe

Nathan 13
Thumb Down

£1 a MB is still a HUGE ripoff!!!

Anything over 5p a MB is a total con, how much does it cost to move 1 MB of data over mobile networks these days? I would guess it would be a fraction of 1p even from here to the US or Australia, the later assuming it gets through their net censorship BS!

Humax ships Freeview HD box

Nathan 13

No HDD?

A tad expensive for a freeview box on its own, even if it is HD. Needs to be a PVR with a 500gb or more HD before im interested.

New music file aims to sink piracy using blogs and Twitter

Nathan 13
Thumb Down

Fail 2.0

This has got to be a great example of thinking up a cr@p idea that nobody wants or needs, and would actually make the experience worse at the same time.

Was this thought up by the Labour Party?

Brits left cold by mobile internet

Nathan 13

Two reasons

Size of screen to small, and ripoff charges.

Even on the Jesus phone browsing the web is a crap experience compared to a laptop or pc. And on normal everyday phone with a 2 inch screen its nigh impossible to read let alone use.

As to costs they are way to expensive overall, vague t&cs, and penalty charges are horrific on most networks!!

Govt promises unemployed free laptops, net access, websites

Nathan 13

Unbelievable

Another idea that will have two effects.

1 Make the unemployed less likely to want to find work.

2 Make the employed more likely to want to become unemployed.

They really havnt got a clue, in fact it really scares me how stupid our leaders are.

If there is a crime committed by anyone who happens to be in your home then the homeowner will be evicted.

Japanese mobile operators shout 'Avast' at piracy

Nathan 13
FAIL

YAWN

If the governments of the developed world cared 1/1000th as much about real crime that destroys peoples lives, as they do about people downloading a song, the world would be a much better and safer place.

And 99.5% of the money/effort/resources they put into stopping piracy will disappear into a great big black hole, because like muggers on the streets, the pirates are always one step ahead of the commodores.
