Roxon clarifies data retention proposals with ASIO support

This is what they do..

I am not surprised by what ASIO says, after all they are in the business of gathering information and it is in their own interest that everything is retained. If they could find a logistical cheap way to copy every letter that gets sent via AusPost they would have done so a long time ago. Now with the advent of digital, this can be done and by the heavens they want it done as soon as possible.

As for Roxon, well, she's sadly out of her depth, or she's simply, as most governments, aren't worried about our privacy or the implications of what such laws will have in the long term. Incompetence is the is the rule of the day on either side of government and when I say incompetence I mean in what they are supposed to do, i.e. serve the people for the people and be visionary like the founding fathers of the USA (they were a brilliant bunch those guys) not to follow party lines in serving themselves and the elites of this world, like most so called democracies these days do!

Pathetic.....

Google and Motorola get a FAIL for this one...

Google ditches the bits in the bottom of the box

I am sick and tired of Google and their silly axing of things we use! I've been using iGoogle for years! just like many of the comments above, I have all my favorite RSS feeds, links, stock etc organised the way I want them and as my home page the minute I open my browser.

I have yet to see an App, for Windows 7 or Mac OSX that does this.

I think, Google just looks at stats and think if there is less than 500 million using something then it needs to go... well then, maybe Google+ should go too based on that metric!

Google get a fail for this.

Apple fined $1.2m for flouting Italian warranty law

Apple are great with their customers... NOT

I got my sister an iPhone 4, she uses it overseas. The camera managed to stop working less than a month after the one year warranty. local dealer was not interested to fix it. got it here in Oz, had to pay $179 to fix it (it took 3 months for it to reach her with my mum) .

I call that a rip off and crappy customer relations. would never buy apple again. problem is my sister is a sucker for them even after this problem! I love their Macbooks, but after this, would not be getting anything from them for myself.

Sony PS3 rootkit rumours rubbished

hack the ps3 not for piracy related matters...

look, not everyone wants to hack the PS3 to run home-brew/pirated games/whatever... some, like me, though still have not done it yet, but thinking of it... wants to do this just so that we can bloody play our DVDs from other regions! yes, Sony, it seems, unlike every other manufacturer, still makes their players region coded that can't be made into all region! they suck to no limits and this PS3 is my last Sony buy for no other reason but that Sony seem to hate their customers! and when I say last Sony buy, this includes their crappy media, from CDs, movies, etc etc... there are too many music and movies in this world anyway, one less company that makes them would not result in much loss for me anyway...
