Probably is illegal in the UK. Because a bunch of thick elected idiots in parliament made laws about something they don't have a clue about. And judging by the emails responses to the infeasibility of outlawing privacy (breakable encryption) from my idiot of an MP, the current lot are just as thick, and unwilling to listen to anyone with a clue.
Until the police are properly accountable for their actions, then they are nothing more than thugs and bullies in government issued uniforms. Don't believe me, try stand up for your rights (particularly the right to remain silent) next time you have an encounter with them, go on, and enjoy the jail time.
Photography is not a crime. There is no offence for taking photo or filming in a publicly accessible place. (With exception of Official Secrets Acts but that is always very well signed posted..) The most they can do is ask you to leave. They cannot order you to delete what you have taken, only a judge can. So maybe you nearly got falsely arrested by some bully with a badge, but you were in no way committing a crime.
I have donated to the Liberty & The Civil Liberties Trust for this, and again now for their further legal action. I have also written my turd of an MP, told him what I am doing, and they he can either rip up the snoopers charter, or face never getting a vote from me again, plus of course I have beem and will continue to bad mouth the undemocratic expletive with what he has failed to do at every appropriate opportunity. So please write your MP, there is a website and everything that makes it easy, and tell them that you have along memory, so come election time, if the snoopers charter is not ash, your vote will not go their way.

I'm not. When I worked IT admin, management (not just from one company) would frequently "let someone go" with out informing us. For the most part we were lucky in that the only damage done was a deleted mailbox (recoverable) and a mouse lead being severed (£3 to replace). And sure, after I would then have a chat, the next few dismissals we were informed just before the meeting, but inevitably it slipped again after a few months, or new managers. Rinse and repeat.

What is the point of having right if you don't stand up for them? "If you have nothing to hide you have nothing to fear" only works if you trust those in power. From the past 20 years of politics, the people in power are the last people to trust in any way what so ever. Corrupt, lying scumbags, and Blue ISIS just keeps them in power. No thank you.
As usual, the CPS couldn't give a toss about what is actually in the public interest. Corrupt cops, leave em, extraditing citizens abroad, oh yea, totally with that. The CPS should be scrapped in it's entirety as it as proven to be nothing more than the oppression arm of increasingly authoritarian governments.

Nice idea in principle Frank Ly, but in practice, I have tried to train people who could watch someone perform the most simplistic task, (move the mouse and push the button) and be utterly unable to replicate the task without massive amounts of instructions and reassurance. Then once they have finally mastered the task, and need to repeat it the next day to actually open an application, the mouse is yet again scraping across the screen. I kid you not.
Are we forgetting that TB made sure us in the UK cannot have privacy? We have to give up our encryption keys to the authorities if they ask, and we can just about have a lawyer with us if we demand and demand and demand it. It's all very well criticizing the FBI, but the UK is already there. We have no rights, we are merely cogs in the machine to keep those in power in power.
bLair started this when he allowed the police to keep money from fines, and now with talk of privatized company's being given the power of arrest, we are not far behind the gangs in uniforms that are ruining the US. Policing should never be done for profit.
Google has become worse. Frequently when searching for a term, it points me to pages which do not have that term on them anywhere. Utterly maddening. Duckduckgo has become my second option for almost everything except when searching Microsoft related problems, when BING surprisingly gets the good results.
