Whilst I don't support he vigilante side of this story, I do believe that sex offenders are treated far too leniently by the courts. if I had my way, Id have them castrated or hunted with dogs, severe offences demand strong punishment as a deterrent & leniency in any way what so ever only encourages such behaviour. Vote down all you like, but this is my opinion & I'm sticking with it.
This seems like a good idea where there are a lot of drives, if it works. I cant say it took me very long to destroy discs with a hammer & punch, but where there may be thousands of drives this will be a useful facility.
I can also see it being the choice of drive for pron stars, who may need to destroy their cache!
Shipping however many million means nothing as the shelves are heaving with computers & Ive personally seen very little interest. To me it would be far more meaningful if the number of W8 active nodes was reported as for years Windows calls home and MS must be able to count them.
Win 8 desktop edition, complete with:
Familiar ways to do new tasks
Start menu of your choice: Classic 2000, Fisher price, oops wheres the start menu, etc
Toggle the ribbon for proper menus
Puerile adjustment - thought ballons & annoyances etc turned to minimum
And not have to buy a new suite of software!
For starters
1) I don't do touch. - Yes, i occasionally pick my nose also.
2) If I did install it then the first thing I'd do would be to install a start menu app and get rid of metro. - Me too.
3) Why bother - nuff said.
4) If it ain't broke don't fix it. Win 7/Server 2008 is fine. Agreed
5) not impressed by their 'cool shiny, me too, press here and let me take over your whole screen' approach to desktops. & take over everything else. Agreed
Im grateful Microsoft only interfere with the computing industry, in any other discipline I think they'd be laughed out of court instead of all the way to the bank.
"it will help its customers by reducing advertising" ---- No it wont, its 'do not track' - that isnt a filter for adverts, you'll need AdBlock or something similar.

"This result will improve consumers experience" --- not sure how as tracking is fairly transparent
"improve privacy" ----- possibly but I'm sure the trackers will find another way.
"and demonstrate American innovation and leadership in the internet economy" --- Vomit
None of this makes sense, Peugot used to make some very reliable 205 & 306's but the later ones seem to have too many faults as described in other posts, all our three Pugs did 150,000 + miles. I just cant get my head around paying more than an Audi A6 for a Peugot & one thats full of very new technology yet to be tried & tested for which I see large bills ahead.
