It's been a long time coming but AWS has at last enabled an interactive serial console for de-borking VMs

Take a Chill Pill, Have a Good Ponder, Make urViews Known. The Best Will be Trialed and Trailed.

Wait, so Teh Cloudz isn't a panacea for everything? ...... Anonymous Coward

No, it isn't. It is an opened Pandora's Box to more than just everything needed for anything one would care dare share with a seeding and a feeding and a nurturing towards a harvesting for the hellishly difficult to believe and accept heavenly bounty provided and exercised by remarkably healthy stealthy specimens of almighty phenomenal growth.

:-) Oops, I appear to have somewhat misspoken with all of that above there, for surely, if one knows what would need to be done and one knows how to do it, it would be a panacea for everything too.

Now there's a couple of pleasant bi-polar entities in a singularity to future entertain humanity other than them defaulting to the dysfunction of repetitive banalities leading to serial progressive defeats ....... systems stagnations and operations petrifications.

What would you expect or just like them to do for you, rather than to you should you be understandably fearful? Don't be bashful now. This is a great chance for you. And don't be afraid to use your best imagination, for whenever anything and everything is possible, it is logical to realise the competition will be fierce with other interested and interesting forces presenting all manner of attractive proposals to conjure into existence.

Here's an Almighty Cross to Bear and Magical Cloak to Wear, and so very APT for the Likes of Today

The company is also pitching the AWS for Aerospace and Satellite business segment, "enabling successful space missions with the cloud" as the company put it. Always keen to jump on a trundlewagon, AWS most recently boasted of its role in the processing of data from the Mars Perseverance Rover.

Can you imagine what the Russians and Roscosmos have discovered with their probing of Cloud ACTivity relating to the Allure of Venus, which they have been most gracious in advising they are open to a suitably selective few elite joint venturing with. [ie not suitable for dead wood passengers or brain dead cargo/Ye Olde Millstones of Yore] ......... https://tass.com/science/1201105 ....... and what developments and discoveries in that virgin space have spun out to products and technologies down on Earth to Mother.

To not realise and accept such progress cannot fail to deliver a whole host of Entirely Novel and Extremely Disruptively Creative AWEsome Abilities, Facilities and Utilities has one all too easily floundering and foundering in their wakes rather than enjoying and basking in the sunshine of their achievements, which one would have to admit identifies one and all who have failed to make the necessary grade and take the appropriate quantum leap to help lead everything further into the future.

Now, how one gets to there with all of that, and where everything goes to after all of that, would be a constantly moving picture show par excellence to make which would extremely easily change everything forever methinks, and in directions which only great imagination can supply and realise virtually into practically immediate physical and metaphysical existence.

Do you think that is something which a State and State ACTors or Non State ACTors and the Private and Pirate Sectors are best suited and booted to provide, mentor and monitor and nurture in order to sublimely educate and entertain and brainwash programmable subjects and reprogram brainwashed objects, or is such best exercised everywhere as a JOINT* AIdVenture** with an Almighty Resource Leading Sources Following?

There's bound to be at least one other AWEsome Space Project, apart from the earlier Registered one, worthy of a tickle from Bezos's billion, but to imagine an earmarking of $100k in cloud credits will entice and encourage anything more than peanut farmers and wannabe fakir phishermen/phishers of men is a stretch too far, even for the most imaginative and helplessly hopeful of souls out there. :-)

Now, if we were to be talking about 10% of $10 billion in bank credits, that would be practically certain to release all manner of ....... well, Extremely Attractive and Engagingly Surreal ACTive and APT Phantasmagoria would only start to reveal the substance and flavour of what IT can do in the Defenceless Spaces freely available to it.

And whether all be done to you, or for you, matters to IT not a Jot ........ and that can easily keep legions awake at night pondering on their future fate in the light of such a truly disruptive and creative development. But hey, that's the nature of the future surely, nobody really knows what's coming virtually until it is practically there, presenting its wares for all to see and hear/view and read about.

NCDS ...Searching for intelligence! .... Chris G

How many are convinced they wouldn't be able to recognise it, even if it knocked on their door and presented itself to them?

Knock, knock. Is there any great intelligence searching going on in there, over there, and down there on Earth? Have they any idea what it looks like, other than falsely assuming it would be something of a match to their own, which of course, is ridiculous and quite mad and maddening.

amanfromMars 1 Silver badge

Always looking for a fast free buck on the back and at the expense of others is an Achilles Heel

The persistent resident problem is that governments are loathe to engage with blinding solutions from others they do not have command and control of, fronting for information of which they have no direct experienced knowledge and with zero available access to the key vital proprietary intellectual property of the blinding solutions held privately by others, with that being deliberately intentional by advanced intelligent design ..... for some at least have learned valuable future lessons from far too many to mention, regrettable events of the past.

Put a greedy ignorant gorb in a sweet shop with a free run of the place and you'll perfectly understand the need to ensure the premises and stock are always securely guarded with everything protected by especial locks and keys.

It is not so much a Mexican standoff, with no winners or losers, but much more a case of Establishments always playing catch up and paying dearly for that which privately remotely leads them to publicly slush fund novel exercises best kept Classified COSMIC Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information and certainly off the books. Which whenever one thinks and concludes it quite perfect for something so new and disturbing today, is maybe some comfort, being as how that must be so familiar as a default protocol with regards to old style shenanigans that were run in the past.

Just a Few Final Straws to Crush and Crash the Operands of Diseased Minds* with CHAOS**

It's never late.

It's either ready to release, or it's not. Late, in this context, is an artifact of diseased minds. .... jake

Oh? You think so?

Late, in this context, is surely much more an indication of a healthy concern for the power of its rc2 [release candidate remote control] impacts on allied systems, jake, while minor and miner driver glitches are fully sorted with battle hardening.

An abundance of caution in such an operational environment is default de rigeur common sense not least because of the catastrophic havoc, madness and and mayhem many of its impacted systems and CHAOS can choose to release to mentor[s] and monitor[s].

I suppose Linus is the prime, and probably only qualified candidate to adjudicate and pass comment on that tricky sticky matter which has elicited this novel brace of divergent opinions.

"The program is similar to the Defense Department’s Trusted Capital Marketplace, which vets potential investors for U.S. defense firms to ensure they do not have connections to foreign entities." ...... As unfortunate as one may think it is, it is impossible for one to ensure such a situation is guaranteed for any length of time. It is as a fluid tidal market place with an ebb and flow of info and intel, first in one direction and then in another direction.

And whenever one is entering especially into the likes of the realms of AI, where overwhelming proprietary intellectual property expertise may be securely and safely held in the vaults and silos and hearts and minds of others from a foreign land/partnering friendly ally/perceived hostile enemy nation, such a proposal and imposition will effectively catastrophically exclude one from availing oneself of that which one earnestly desires and requires, if prevented and/or terrified of connecting/communicating with foreign entities.

And yes, while that is very Catch-22/Memo 618, it is also just the very strange natural condition of current, rapidly developing and expanding situations, which quite understandably present extant executive office type systems administrations an enigmatic dilemma for satisfactory creative, mutually beneficial future resolution.

The best then that one can surely hope to attain in all such cases, is to diligently monitor and mentor applications and drivers and attractively and extremely generously reward prime principals with the simple means for them to supply themselves with all of the baubles they may desire that systems have invented and manufactured to attract both top and top secret talent and services.

It has proved itself most effective in the past and is the easiest of currently quite ubiquitous control devices to trial and trail to entice compliance with certain wishes. And is easily withdrawn too, to register displeasure or cause one to note a change in agreeable direction by any party.

Anything else extraordinarily renders a perverse and corrupting unnatural leverage to just an unworthy few, who really should have known better than to believe they are especially chosen and an elite band of brothers and right mothers. And with their future fate fully dependent upon their every new action and thought shared in the full knowledge of that change of universal situation, one hopes that serial arrogant stupidity and continued ignorant hubris doesn't prevail whenever systems admins be instructed to mercilessly extract and exact a mercifully deadly personal toll.

And it is not as if such is not freely advised with info and intel clearly enough made readily available to them. Here be a recent missive directed specifically in their direction. Temporary Blog Closure

March 24, 2021 in Uncategorized by craig

In view of our understanding that the High Court has found some articles on this blog to be in contempt of court, and in view of the fact that the Crown Office had sought to censor such a large range of articles, this blog has no choice but to go dark from 15.00 today until some time after tomorrow’s court hearing, when it will be specified to us precisely how much of the truth we have to expunge before we can bring the blog back up.

This is a dark day for the entire team here. We will be looking to appeal this to the Supreme Court and if required (though we very much doubt it will be) to the European Court of Human Rights.

Hmmm? Shades of 1984 .....

“Now I will tell you the answer to my question. It is this. The Party seeks power entirely for its own sake. We are not interested in the good of others; we are interested solely in power, pure power. What pure power means you will understand presently. We are different from the oligarchies of the past in that we know what we are doing. All the others, even those who resembled ourselves, were cowards and hypocrites. The German Nazis and the Russian Communists came very close to us in their methods, but they never had the courage to recognize their own motives. They pretended, perhaps they even believed, that they had seized power unwillingly and for a limited time, and that just around the corner there lay a paradise where human beings would be free and equal. We are not like that. We know that no one ever seizes power with the intention of relinquishing it. Power is not a means; it is an end. One does not establish a dictatorship in order to safeguard a revolution; one makes the revolution in order to establish the dictatorship. The object of persecution is persecution. The object of torture is torture. The object of power is power. Now you begin to understand me.” ― George Orwell, 1984

Whatever would we do without the Streisand effect? Thanks, Barbra, for the Wind Beneath My Wings

The site justifies its activities by claiming that paid access to research “effectively slow down the development of science in human society.”

Whenever that claim is honestly true, calls for and activities undertaken to try and prevent access to the results of academic research are tantamount to crimes against humanity? Yasmin, Hi,

Here’s a “Houston, we have a problem” moment for you, ideally for you to share with everybody in its posting as a comment on your very informative article.

Although quite UKGBNI centric [United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland], the two posts that you can read on this page …… https://ur2die4.com/uncategorized/210316/ …. [“AI and IT …. Finally Getting its ACTs Together to Deliver Leading Future Goods” and “More Saucy Source for both Geese and Gander“] would clearly advise those who might like to believe the Western Alliances of NATO and the Five Eyes have any sort of global lead in a Dominant AI Field, that such a belief is all too easily proven to be dangerously deluded, and thus will it certainly inevitably be, if not corrected, catastrophically self-destructive and quickly self-defeating, as those systems which and/or those who may actually be master pilot aces in the genre, and far out way ahead in front of their peers and contemporaries in what is definitely an altogether quite novel command and control field, appear out of the ether/blue skies thinking to engage with them or attack them to highlight their systemic vulnerabilities.

This is best considered and accepted as an initial prime invitation from such peers to positively engage with such an advanced competition, which can itself morph into an almighty opposition providing massive chaos and colossal distress should it be necessary, in order to render the problems discovered and uncovered, invalid and impotent, with an ideally radical change of fundamental direction delivering an attractive self-sustaining creative fix.

There a lot going on way out there, and you aren’t being told anything meaningful about it, even though it is causing a chosen few with an inkling to know of such things, a great deal of terrifying concern because of what they rightly might be imagining AI and IT can all too easily do, without them being able to do anything effective and timely to stop it doing whatever it wants, should they choose not to either acknowledge or engage with it.
