...and good luck in your new venture. You will be missed amonst these pages.
"The only way users will willingly switch is if there is a must-have service that they can't access with ipV4 and I can't see that happening any time soon"
Get Facebook to use IPv6 only. That will get a lot of end users switching over.
There is mention of a new file system called Protogon.
... that cannot be defeated by the Doctor's Sonic Screwdriver.
I'm with you dotdavid. I will not be getting one as long as there are "additional" fees for using the extra features on the box.
I won't even be paying up front. When my existing box "malfunctions" I'll demand a replacement for free or I'll cancel my subscription.
The logo still looks crap from the day it was unveiled.
...you are still limited to the speed the host can send data to you.
Not if they are traffic shaping which they do at peak times.
Like with previous Medal of Honor games (Allied Assault, Spearhead, etc) for the PC
1. Can we set up a dedicated server running on our own hardware or rented hardware that players can join ?
2. Can the players create their own custom maps ?
3. Can the players mod the game (like freeze tag, etc) ?
After the farce with Modern Warefare and the absolute crappy IWNet for P2P multiplayer game play (which has put me off buying anymore Activision/Infinity Ward games) I am hoping that all the questions for Medal of Honor is yes.
If not then EA Games needs to have a good think about the PC gamers.
After all it was the custom map makers and modders that made the orginal MoH series one of the best FPS games in years even when Activision tried to copy it with their first Call of Duty series.
...I use "There is an application for that" ??
This trip to the US of A must have blown the entire season's budget.
Guess they will make up for it by shooting all the other episodes on the strrets of Cardiff instead in the studio on the sets of alien worlds.
"This view is not shared by professor Stephen Hawking, The Australian notes. He recently warned: “I imagine they might exist in massive ships, having used up all the resources from their home planet."
Has Professor Hawking been watching Independence Day?
I for one will not be watching this film.
I will keep my pennies for something that is worth watching. Cinema prices are bloody expensive.
I hope this will become a very expensive flop.
...the Demo Scene
1,000,000,000,000,000,000 British Trillion
1,000,000,000,000 US Trillion
Now if the Financial markets used proper British billions and trillions the national debt won't seem so bad.
Since I won't be buying an iPad the poor bloke can have my quota.
You never know, deities and aliens might be one and the same.
The "green" part is no more people driving round reading meters.
Why the hell should people with land lines pay an extra tax so rural areas can have broadband?
I'm sorry but it's the telecoms companies that should pay for this. Not add more tax.
They asked for Government help because it isn't cost effective to put the infrastructure in place.
And what will happen if (not when) all this in place? Will they remove this "tax"?
If China won't allow freedom of speech on the Internet then I say cut them off. Deny China (and any other country that wants to do mass censoring) access to the Internet.
Put it this way we will have less spam, virus and hack attempts.
Why should we need to install a plug-in to opt out of Google Spyware?
Google Spyware should be opt-in and you opt-in by installing the plug-ins.
Isn't it time for Vivien Reading to look into Google Spyware like she did with Phorm?
Will they be releasing photos of the Apollo 11 landing site?
Why would you want WinMo7 to have backward compatibility with previous WinMo's?
Do you want WinMo7 to be bloated like Windows is?
Personally I think Microsoft should create a new OS (Windows and Mobile) from scratch and screw backward compatibility. Get rid of the bloat.
If your WinMo6.5 app is any good, the author would create a new version for WinMo7 to stay up to date.
If Alien life was detected, it would have been hushed up to avoid global panic and mass suicides.
And all religions will realise that God/Allah/Budda/etc do not exist but have infact been worshipping aliens. Goa'uld System Lords (Ra, Apophis, Anubis) perhaps?
Explains the birth of Jesus...
Mary impregnated by aliens.
The 3 "Wise" men following the light of an alien ship which then shone it's searchlight onto the stable.
Jesus has "special" abilities, like heal people with a single touch. Alien psychic powers.
...they force ad companies to use dot-ads so we can easily block them out as well.
The next version of Windows should be 64 bit only.
It should be written from the ground up.
There should be NO backward compatibility built into it, no legacy crap.
For backward compatibility, Virtual PC should be used with older OS installed on it.
If there is going to be any manned missions to the Moon or Mars (or further) it will have to be an International Co-operation.
We can no longer rely on the US of A for advancing mankind into space.
If the International Community pools their resources (man power, technology and money) we could be on the Moon again within a decade and on Mars with 20 years.
I'm sure China or India would love to get a man on the moon, well any other nation just to beat the Americans.
Will you be releasing photos of the construction and testing of PARIS and Vulture 1 before the final launch?
Hollywood might as well go and sue Microsoft since Bit Torrent runs on their Operating System.
Well it is the operating system that stores the data on the hard drive/removable media.
Why has it taken Larrikin Music this long to sue Men at Work?
Kookaburra Sits in the Old Gum Tree was written in 1934.
Down Under in the early 1980's.
It is now 2010, nearly 30 years since Down Under and 76 years since Kookaburra Sits in the Old Gum Tree.
Is Larrikin Music going to sue all the schools for allowing the children to sing this song as well?
We have the Jesus Phone, Moses tablet...
What's next... Noah's Ark for a storage server?
Only 14% was smut?
hmmm... better do my own survey to see if that's accurate.
Are they sure it's a mistake?
GB@Gov.Uk needs to balance the books and what's better than issuing wrong tax codes to make people pay more?
I'm on Virgin Media 20Mb and I downloaded Star Trek Online 7 Gb in size within 3 hours.
And that was on a week day evening.
...we need Judge Dread style police.
IW alienated clans who wanted their own dedicated servers to run training and play in ladder matches.
IW alienated the modding community when they dedicated not to have dedicated servers so there was no chance of people creating custom maps.
For these types of games to succeed on a PC the games need to allow players to create their own maps and create custom mods.
It was for these reasons why many people cancelled their orders and went back to CoD4.
Do this claim take into account cancelled or refunded orders?
This reminds me when there was an outcry from PC gamers about CoD2 which had no anti-cheat technology which caused the CoD community to lock out their servers for a day as a sign of protest.
I think we should start using planet classifications like in Star Trek instead of using Earth-Like.
Earth = M Class - sutible for human life.
They should force him to put Wireless Router in his house so they all can have free access to the Internet.
Network the village with Wireless.
...link is Epics and Achievements before he could continue his lawsuit?
And what about non-EU advertising companies. Will this ruling affect them?
The advertisers should be forced to use .ads domain so we can block them out in one go.
Why not put pressure on the school to ban mobile phones from school as well?
There is no reason why a child needs to use a phone in school since most of their mates are there as well, especially an 8 yo.
An 8yo with a mobile phone will be a bigger target for theft.
...with these postal strikes and also a large demand for the game?
After saying that Play.com did email me saying that they would try to get the game to me on launch date by using a courier.
And they lived up to their promise. A courier did deliver the game on launch day.
Also on a side note, I've very rarely have any problems with Play.com
Out of the number of years I've used them only 2 items have gone missing in the post which Play.com sent out a replacement with no hassle.
But it's just like any other company, a majority of people have no problems where as a handful have nothing but problems.
...that should be in Viz.
There is a call centre in the UK?
...part of Ireland
Irish female accents are just sexy.
"Similar boxes are used by managers of fleet vehicles and police forces, with dramatic improvements in accidents"
Does this mean that they will be checking to see that the next addicent will be more dramatic then the last one?
They could impose rules that only Latin letters must be used for specific TLDs (.com, .co.uk) and all the dodgy characters restricted to the country's TLD.
Don't know why they are using .BOX
I can download Win7 from MSDN in ISO format.
Did one of the laid off staff insert a timebomb into the code?
Isn't the next step from the Space Shuttle is to develop a space craft that can take off from a runway (or VTOL) and enter earth's orbit without the need for booster rockets?
I think using a capsule is a backward step for the space programme.
Just start using those captured alien flying saucers...
