Re: Hard or soft water?

I notice the change, tea tastes different on holiday,

And it is not the plastic plumbing doing it, we now take the first 25l of water with us to acclimatise to the different water.

Nor is it the kettle.

After that it seems OK.

Re: Due to caffeine intolerance,*

Funny! (Reading Long Earth at moment)

I started getting panics and headaches about 10-15 years ago, I was drinking tea at work, changed to decaf and panics went as did headaches.

Actually they do write their own PSGL is based on OpenGL but most programmers go lower than that either LibGCM or direct to chip.

BSD

Well the Vita PS3 and PS4 all use BSD.

So do Apple for their OSs.

Not well known but a lot of other systems use it.

Field weakening could be the answer.

Remember there are machines which use electricity as the transmission and a few have wide speed ranges.

I didn't know them but I read of what happened.

Internet troll picked on a person repeatedly, so he phoned them up to rip them a new arse, but spoke to trolls wife, trolls wife gave troll a good earbashing, troll stopped trolling.

His next stage would have been a visit.

Seen a few.

The arm mounted small computer terminal seen in Killzone Mercenary which happens to the the same size as a Vita.

The arm mounted computer which you can repair your weapons with and change your clothes with in Fallout series.

But then make it loook like a Blakes Seven transporter arm band and that might sell.

Re: Exclusives

So lets say that Naughty Dog were given the task of converting to a lower powered console with less disc space?

How would they fit say 50GB on a DVD, handle a processor with less cores and less power than their target one?

Very badly.

Put it this way, Sony owned IPs are written for a computer using a Cell processor using CellOS, low level graphics calls not related to other systems, a certain memory model. So a Window OS using DirectX will be a LOT of work.

Exclusives are where any console shines

Exclusives

It is exclusive because Sony own the studio, they own a number of top studios.

Note that the PS4 was developed from their feedback.

So, Windows 8.1 to give PC sales a shot in arm? BZZZZT, wrong answer

Re: @MJI: Windows love hate

It is a pain, us older PC programmers were used to various DOSes with Netware, then we get used to the Windows GUI, then they break it.

There are times I would LOVE to get out of IT, Hmm small B&B by the seaside sounds nice.

Re: Windows love hate

Actually Windows Server to me is an oxymorom.

SMB2 is an effing nightmare.

I have little Linux exposure.

I really liked Netware from 4.1 to 5.1 now THAT as a NOS I could trust

Windows love hate

Well it is at the stage that I cannot use a Windows PC without it annoying me somehow.

This PC, reboot, icons all move, doesn't run my old software,a bit bossy. VERY bossy with updates.

Home PC, file open/saveas ect is a piece of rubbish and drives me mad. A bit Tellytubbyish

A new laptop at work, too much fluff, keeps hiding things. Stupid menus until start something was installed

I have not yet found an ideal operating system, and I can see why tablets are taking off.

As to Windows server 2012, we want the menus back, why have server OSes got worse since Netware stopped?

Decent campaign you want to play again.

Make us want to play it again.

Make any multiplayers addictive and FUN

So far longest SP I have is over 120 hours for £20

MP over 800 hours for £38 + all DLC + new controller

Even a fun game may get 2 SPs and my sons may have a go.
